Currently have some old audio system from like 2000s. Worth roughly from ~50-300eur hard to tell they don't sell these no more. Thinking of spending ~1-1.5k on new speakers and amp. People who trew money at it - was it worth it ?
Avoid and amp and just get active speakers
>>106864002get DSP and multiple channels amp, get UMIK-1 microphone and correct your speakers with REW, save the filters in the DSP and your speakers will sound great. also remove any passive filter they have and bi/tri amp them depending on how many drivers in each speaker
>>106864015>active speakershisssssssssss
>>106864002Headphones will sound better for the money but maybe you have friends
>>106864262Nah, dont be a boomer, modern speakers, especially at that price are good
>>106864002hell yes. Dolby Atmos 7.1 is the witches tits. its next level audio as good as the cinema can offer.you should just about be able to get a good setup on your budget
>>106864002spend $200 on a good bluetooth portable speaker like this JBL Xtreme 4 speaker. its loud as hell so is good for music, gaming, movies, everything. plus you can take it everywhere so you can take it to bed or even take it with you when you have a shit. you can also piss on it if you're into that because its waterproof
>>106864686No way to get good bass without moving a lot of air. Completely impossible from a speaker you can hold in your hand.
>>106864789this thing has 2 subwoofers in it, the bass is a lot louder than you'd think
>>106864262Use a balanced signal
>>106864844You don't know what good bass sounds like. You have been tricked by the missing fundamental effect.>>106864864The hiss comes from the amp not the cables.
>>106865132let me guess... a shitty overpriced genelec is what I need?
>>106865345If you're posting on /g/ you don't have the space or the money for a good speaker setup. Use planar headphones or IEMs and just accept you won't get the full room-shaking effect. That's what I do.
>>106864002Instead of amp + passive speakers, I would buy active speakers (not just powered speakers, i.e. a set of speakers of which one has an amp inside for both speakers, it has to be one amp per speaker!), because the crossover then only needs to handle a low power signal, instead of an amplified signal (which would be the case with a passive system).
>>106864262I suggest using a preamp, and going in with a high voltage signal, and turn up the speaker amp only how much you need it, to minimize noise from the amp
>>106864024This but also get a subwoofer.
>>106866121are the fox plushies required to improve sound quality and room dampening?
>>106865777Every active speaker I've heard had audible hiss even when turned all the way down.
>>106866214shit power supplies. unless you had some ground loop in your system.
>>106866269They're just designed for deaf boomers.
>>106866121You need multiple subwoofers if you expect to listen anywhere outside that one sweet spot that happens to dodge the room modes.
>>106866142Mandatory.
>>106864002if it is a hobby then yes and is rewardingjust to play audio no
>>106867239yeah like at the desk where my PC is?
