alpine is pretty cozy for low spec computers but i wouldnt recommend it to a new user, should go with arch or debian
>>
>>106867155
cause half the time you will be reading arch(verbose)/gentoo(overly verbose)/alpine(lacking) wiki's for all your linux related issues from jewgle hits

Yes the documentation is shit but as long as you know the rc-service and rc-update commands and apk add, apk del, then it's pretty straight forward. Except if you try to get a wayland/hyprland desktop working and all the greeter/polkit shit pages don't help. Yeah yeah gdm just werks if you want gnome but there's no tutorial how to get hyprland working, it's just vague statements and I've seen incorrect ones too, my sddm doesn't start, maybe something to do with the QLM qt.quick modules in the themes, idk.

The last time I tried to install alpine it didn't work and then I got a bunch of errors about merge-usr. I'm currently stuck on a live disk of POP until I can be bothered trying again.
