So just got into linux and decided to install debian after reviewing the other stable newbfriendly distros (ubuntu, mint, fedora, etc). Decided not to mess with the corporate leaning ones and settled on debian, but just found out theyre also hopping on the popular kill-all-straight-white-goys bandwagon. Should i be concerned and prepare to switch to something else, or is it just a nothingburger and debian should still be trusted? If the former, what distro should i consider instead? From what i read it seems like void linux ticks all the boxes(stable, non-corpo, non-political) besides the newbfriendly part.
>>106866641>non-politicalsilence is violence, being non-political means you're a nazi
>>106866671you forgot that all of us are using nazi technology.
>>106866671Like what the guy in the video said. The only political ideology a distro should have is fighting against big tech and i agree with that. Thats the only politics shit i wanna acceptForgot link to the video btw in case anyone wants to see what im on about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hwtSnO9TA4
>>106866641>>106866760just take the devuan pill
>>106866843My only concern with newer distros is if theyll even be relevant in 10 years. I dont want to get comfy with a distro and then have the rug pulled from under me because they decided to end the project or they slack on developing/maintaining it
>>106866641There's no such thing as a non-political distro.Due to the demographics of open source enthusiasts, it's either extreme leftoids or extreme rightoids, and they will shove it in your face first chance they get, from both sides of the aisle.
>>106867058from what exact distro are devs who are eagerly fighting against big tech corps?
>>106867016Devuan is over a decade old.
>>106866760nazi talk
>>106867303Its first stable release was in 2017. Almost a decade sure but idk, hasnt a bunch of distros in the past lasted for up to a decade before becoming abandoned? The reason why we have so many distros, no?Btw just reminder im a linuxnoob so if what im saying/thinking isnt entirely accurate then forgive me
>>106866641Void actvely supports blmBite the bullet and use Arch
>>106866641GUIX.
The Linux kernel is the most corporate piece of software on the planet. If you hate corporations, Windows and macOS are far less corporate than Linux, which includes tons of code from Red Hat, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, Intel, AMD, etc.
>>106868148>Void actvely supports blmSource?>use archI said stable
>>106868300Pls no (((semantics))) nor (((hairsplitting))) Id be on reddit if i wasnt looking for those sort of postsThanks

Try CachyOS, it's really cool.
>>106868485I said source. As in linkNot screenshot. I have no idea where that images is from or if its genuine. I did the same search and didnt get that
>>106868304>Source?>Source?>Source?cringe newfag tranny
>>106868581Still waiting for that thick creamy sauce btw(no h*mo)
>>106867796if you're a windows 10 refugee, devuan should be fine. if you're new and wanna learn how linux works though i'd recommend against it. you'll end up stagnating in skill because you aren't being challenged regularly / at all"stability" doesn't just come from stable packages, it comes from knowing the ins and outs of your system and how to fix it if things go wrong. if you stick with just debian / devuan, fedora, uboongu, arch, etc you limit your ability to adapt if your chosen distro dies, which is a real possibility that you can seem to sense. it exists no matter which one you choose, corpo backing or notunironically install arch / gentoo. otherwise devuan is fine, just stop thinking and pick a distro
>>106866641Okay let's take Mint as example. Mint is basically for everyone, it's stable, well known and just werks. Many boomers use Mint and you can imagine their political stance. Even if Mint would think about going ultra woke, they would not do it, because if they mess 50% of their userbase (boomers), then they would also lose the majority of their donors (boomers).
