Well?

I had to switch after uBlock-gate. I still have not made up my mind about it, though.

brave fucks up very specific things for me making it unusable. I rely on certain audio alerts for work-related stuff and even with the right settings sometimes the audio just doesn't fucking play in non-focused tabs. also, and this goes for all chromium browsers, I get weird audio distortion on streamed video that is perfectly fine on firefox. like extremely time-stretched low pitch etc.
>>
>>106866882
no it isn't

you are better off using vanilla chromium with uBol, or using firefox

lie. They make their own ad blocker, and you don't need to download another one, and it works well.
>>
>>106866882
Web 3.0 memes are very easy to turn off and it never enables itself back. Other than that, it's unironically my favorite Chromium based browser as of now. The native ad-blocker is pretty good, just needs some filter adjustments.

How is the adblock deprecated? I literally never see ads on Youtube or otherwise.

The crypto stuff you can easily turn off upon install. Everything else. VPN isn't used unless you enable it and you can hide the button. I haven't seen it since initial install.

It literally has built in TOR if you want to use it!

Why would you ever ask subhuman apes on 4chan for any advice? Are you stupid? Are you retarded? What do you imagine the life of an average 4channer is like?

absolutely abysmal they haven't created the capacity for UI/UX tweak like Vivaldi
wtf are they spending their time even doing over there at Brave HQ – crypto wallet bs?

vivaldi isn't a ui tweak. vivaldi wrote their complete own ui in react. that's why it's so laggy and shitty.

Meme browser for tech-illiterate normies who think they're leaving the matrix by granting another 1984 data harvester access to their shit just because their ugly, generic, flatshit logo portrays a different animal.

It's also written in rust btw, which is how you know it's really good and better than other nazi chud adblockers.
>>
>>106868777
1) No nigger, built in adblock that works way better than adblock extensions for other chromium based browsers.

2) Better tracker blocking than default chrome and chromium.

3) Literally zero telemetry or any data harvesting if you turn it off and don't use Brave Rewards.

4) Security updates without manual updates like you have to deal with when it comes to ungoogled chromium.

Only tech illiterate faggot is you.

Who cares about the cryptocurrency? I use Brave and never once interacted with their crypto and have it completely disabled. Never made an account with them. They get zero telemetry from me.

I don't use it because 1) its fucking hideous and 2) it doesn't do anything better than librewolf+ubo and in fact does a bunch of unnecessary shit I don't need it to

I tried to migrate my Brave profile folder after reinstalling my OS so that I could keep my browser data and then Brave automatically deleted and purged all of my extensions. Then I read that Brave doesn't support moving profile folders to new computers and they only want you to use Brave Sync (their cloud sync service) instead for transferring data to new computers..

I uninstalled it and moved back to Firefox, which I've had no problem moving profiles between operating system installs, and it seamlessly kept the extensions as well.
>>
i'd be willing to use brave if not for:
a- it doesn't play hevc
b- all the crypto stuff
i know its made by the original firefox creator and i gave it a chance but until mozilla fucks up again i'm staying with firefox or its forks

Tbf this is actually a fair gripe against Brave, unlike the other shit in this thread which is pure FUD.

I only move my bookmarks so it isn't an issue for me, but I also don't mind reinstalling a couple of extensions.

I like Brave because Chromium based shit is the only thing I can be sure will work 100% on all websites, ungoogled chromium doesn't have automatic updates, and the built in adblock literally never lets ads through except strangely the 4chan ones which I don't mind.

Chromium based stuff also has better mitigations against exploits and better sandboxing than Fox.

Everything has it's use case, for modern net you'll pretty much always need to have at least Chrome, as 80% of internet users use it and you'll inevitably once in your life run into some site that requires Chrome specifically. But obviously if you value some privacy and just want to give less money to Google, you'll need a browser that's a bit privacy respecting and you got Firefox+uBo/Brave as options there that won't break on every site but will give some sense of privacy and at least won't fund google directly. Problem is Firefox is getting worse and worse as time goes on, here's an example, I did a test of trying to run only firefox on my computer, I went ahead and installed a game that requires NVIDIA PhysX, I went on nvidia site, drivers, and chose to download the latest and legacy version of physx. And one of them, I think legacy, straight up wouldn't download at all, the page would just turn white with various numbers and letters on it. Firefox is not tested by sites at all, and this shit happens all the time. And quite frankly it's gotten very sloppy too, out of the box it has so much nagging, spyware, and ai generated shit that it makes brave seem super clean in comparison.
>>
It's getting worse and worse, it's the best option for now but Orion can't come soon enough.
>>
>>106867048
Their adblocker is dogshit and doesn't block anything on mobile.
>>
>>106869779
Werks fine on my machine, uBO doesn't block jack shit either if you stop using english sites or even if you go to slightly niche sites. uBO still doesn't block nexusmods ad banners for months now, and fails at twitch ad blocking every other week. There's no perfect ad blocker, but 3 are obviously the best and they share many contributors, for example the fanboy lists that are often in easylists and/or seperate and used by all three are made by a guy working for brave, adguard lists are also used in brave shields and ubo, and vice versa, the brave team uses uBO default lists too. AdGuard, uBO, Brave Shields are all good ad blockers.
