>5,120 pixels wasted to display 3 UI elements>Linux users see nothing wrong with this
>>106867295Really? With all the hate GNOME gets on this board with their UI decisions you think "Linux users see nothing wrong with this"?Do better Anon.
>>106867334Gnome is used by the majority of Linux users and it's the default DE for all the major distributions so yes it is fair to say that Linux users don't see anything wrong with that.
>>106867295i dont use gnome like an ape
>>106867295Yeah I see nothing wrong with that anon.Anon just add some extensions will yah?Top laptop, Bottom desktop, don't care that it isn't 1920x60.Also add the bottom edge trigger.
I will never understand the GNOME top panel myself.I've seen arguments about how having less stuff on that top panel is "less distracting". How tray icons were never needed but still after many, many many years, only GNOME is stubbornly fighting against those pesky icons and they stand strong. How it is a waste of space, but you can see right there how much space is completely unused, and unusable, specially on a display that's wide. I really don't get it.>>106867446Not really? KDE Plasma is a default flavor on quite a few distros. openSUSE, the most popular arch derivatives, it's one of both main Fedora flavors as well. Ubuntu and specially Zorin OS have GNOME as the default, but they use a lot of extensions. In fact the latter gets rid of the panel and uses something that can be customized to your liking.
>>106867295Linux users are just salty they don't have a THICC Windows taskbar
>>106867295Usecase for pixels? Pixels aren't a metric. It's getting heated in here.
>>106867295just set expand and autohide, works on my machine(tm)
I use KDE with a vertical taskbar. Literally not my problem.
>>106867295I just use i3 and fill it with useful info.
