Is it worth installing on an M1 MacBook Air?
>>106867505It's just Linux. Do you like Linux?
>>106867699So it’s pretty polished and performant?
>>106867868I daily it and the majority of the "issues" I have had are things not working on aarch64, although it's not common. There's other little stuff here and there but overall I'm happy with it. My only concern would be ever since marcan had his historic meltdown and left the project things have really seemed to slow down in terms of new development. It's worth trying out, you can give it a small partition just to test.
>>106868110I would also add that there are certain features like DP alt mode that I don't use that aren't implemented currently. Check the compatibility matrix on their website to confirm it can do what you need it to. As good and polished as it is, it is still a work in progress.
>>106867505fuckers still not offering speaker support for the m1 imac
>>106867762this
>>106867505macOS is a bsd distro customized for the hardware, why would you replace it?
>>106867505well, devs threw a fit and quit leaving everyone else the mess they made. the new leader(s) are focused on just trying to get their mess of patches upstreamed. no clue when or if you'll ever get things like DP alt mode and thunderbolt. if you just want a linux env you can run UTM.
>>106867505No.
>>106869706based
How come they could reverse engineer this but not nvidia drivers?
Just use it in a vm
>>106867505Kali Linux is king only one I'd swear by Why would you need anything else unless your running Battlefield 6 on top level GPU and RAMYou may be able to run Win 11/10 in a VM but I doubt the most resource heavy exhaustive software will work
>>106870992Just dual boot Mac OS & Kali. I forgot just use boot camp on Mac OS for Windows games but idk how well an M1 Mac would run say Black Ops 7, maybe GTAV on high settings?
>>106867505you're litterally raping tim cook if you do this
