XP has no telemetry inside, atleast from what we know from the leaked source code builds, right?
Why not just use XP? A modern NAT does wonders for security, and I still remember when you fags said you wouldn't move to Windows Vista and stay on XP forever.

We have the source code. If XP had backdoors or telemetry inside, it would've been exposed and immediately fixed in forks, right? That's the power of open source, after all. You can just make your server's backend open source and random people will see it and fix it for you rather than exploit it before it's fixed!

>Almost no new software supports it.
We've been doing the same shit for 25+ years. Why the fuck do you need "new " software? What's being done now that wasn't being done before before that's suddenly super important?

in 2025, XP is useless beyond being a cool theme for KDE on Linux/BSD.
>>
>>106868387
Out of the box, yes (unless you don't care for internet) but properly updated and tinkertrannied, it mogs everything else running today, including your troonix shitbox.

You may not know this but you can port software to XP, or even write your own.

You can even use Rust.

You keep using the word spyware, and telemetry but I feel like you have no idea what either is. By FSF definition anything proprietary is spyware, so XP is spyware. By definition of telemetry and crash reporting, windows xp has event viewer and logs just like any new version of windows has it. And windows should be the least of your worries anyway, every single program you use has it's own telemetry that it sends to it's own creator so he can fix bugs and see what features the users prefer. Telemetry does not mean some cia glowey having access to your webcam and looking at you 24/7, it means shit like reporting crash reports saying what click caused what crash due to what likely reason, reporting what features are oppened and clicked on the most, and all this data is anonymous and mixed up so the company doesn't have any liability for it and won't get sued.

Render in 3D... ? edit HLG video? How are you gonna do that without modern APIs?
How about you just move to Linux instead of this faggotry?

How can you tell?

I have XP installed on a Latitude E6530, and it's still surprisingly usable. We even have a decent selection of browsers to choose from.

Running an out of support version of windows signals to everyone you are destitute, and/or too tech illiterate for Linux.
>>
>>106871440
If you think an OS no longer being officially supported means you cannot use it effectively and safely anymore, you are the tech illiterate.
>>
> using an OS with zero clicks
Lmao
>>
>>106871536
My xp machine is airgapped. How else am I supposed to enjoy 3D audio on my soundblaster xfi without some lame vista emulation bullshit without sticking to the goty OS?
>>
>>106871549
You don't need to airgap it unless you don't know how to secure it. I use it as my daily driver and it's online 24/7.
>>
>>106871496
You didn't even try to give an argument for using an unsupported version of windows. It's so telling lmao. You're absolutely poor / tech illiterate.
>>
>>106871589
Nobody ask me for an argument on that. I'm not the only person using this board in case you didn't notice.

But a better take would be, what do you think using XP as my daily driver in 2025 is holding me back from? Because shit just continues to work just as it did back in the day.

Bullshit. I remember experiencing forced updates under Windows 7 as well.

because you're poor, like the other anon said

What do I need new hardware for again? better spectre-meltdown-IME support?
