This is still a thing on Samsung phones? My old Pixel 6a just used its A55 cores to do that stuff in the background after an update, even the $150 Motorola I have now does something similar. I haven't had the old style Android updates (where you have to wait before being able to use the phone at all) since LG still made phones.
