Have any of you used dumb phones or feature phones from recent years?
>>106871869Since Google is making you give them government id to install apps in 2026 I'm just going to leave smartphones altogether. These KaiOS devices look promising.I like how this one is kind of round.
>>106871880This one is also round but hueland only.
>>106871869picrel is my everyday phone, the 4g nokia 110.>removable battery>3.5mm jack>dual sim>microsd slot>basic browser for emergencies (most websites don't display correctly because excessive javascript and web 3.0 bullshit)>no google services>calling just works>texting just works>snake>tetris>small and light enough to fit into a shirt pocket
>>106871869Some years ago I bought a used Nokia 8110 4G. It didn't came with kaiOS/app store, sold it off. But I'm using a feature phone now. And it has a removable battery(kills glowies).Buy an airgap/half-airgap wifi router an instant sanity restoring device.I no longer have to do stupid shit like moving the wifi firmware file to .bak and turning off wifi in BIOS settings at the sametime to have any-kind of internal/external mental space for work. Not really now, but at least for awhile I stopped using internet all together(locked myself with music, AI, some books, vidya, movies), I do recommend doing that.I avoid for the most part the infuriating news cycle about the orange man.I haven't felt more like myself in years, make sure to avoid youtube, discord, meta for awhile.
>>106871869>>106872271Telling yah bois, buy a dedicated airgap router, best purchase you can make in your life.
>>106872299What benefit does this give me if I'm not a weird pedophile?
>>106871869>still botnetLiterally no point. Just get a cheap smartphone and call ut a day at this point.
I just had a dream where I was using one, weird.
>>106872330You don't have to be a pedophile to get into weird kind of stuff where everywhere you go online there's a person that talks to your head or augments what you feel your face is on the inside if you go near it.Or you do anything on your computer and it's offline and you hear talk about you or try to frame you as a criminal while you try to focus on some work.
>>106872448An airgap is just a blessing from God himself/herself.
>>106871869the one in your pic is unusable. every action takes ages - you press a button and the phone takes a couple seconds to register the press, typing a message is a pita. i wouldn't buy it even for a senior, unless they literally only answer calls, but even then the multidirectional button in the center makes it very easy to mistakenly press left or up when you want ok.
>>106872271Does it support OPUS?
>>106871880I had considered Similar, use a kaios device ,may work for a few years...maybe , but we can conclude the next likely move from them,Geo Locking ,if you declare not having a smart phone they issue you a free crappy one that you are expected YOU! to use (south korea they send you msg that they expect replies from ) There is likely to be black market of foreign devices, clean firmware sites becoming more popular ,locking blocking of devices that don't have government software installed ,ppl moving to Lora devices (already happening) , banning of sale of Lora Devices , people making THERE OWN,,,, all of this,,,we know what we all have to do otherwise , this is the fate that awaits, a never ending arms race...
