The <mm3dnow.h> header is deprecated, and 3dNow! intrinsics are unsupported. For other intrinsics, include <x86intrin.h>, instead.

Even at the time AMD was phasing it out by switching to SSE2 with AMD64.

more like 3Dnever, a far as I know nothing notable ever really took advantage of it, except (from what I understood) there was one instruction from 3Dnow that was adopted by intel and remains in all modern x86/AMD64 processors today, '3dnowprefetch' or something like that, I don't know, I'm not an assembly language programmer or cpu engineer

Carmack used it.

I know 3Dnow! was pretty much DOA, but is something like MMX still used by compilers or is it completely deprecated by SSE and newer extensions?

Was MMX made obsolete by SSE?
>>
>>106875310
I'm pretty sure OpenGL drivers used it. Recall that hardware T&L wasn't a thing yet, so the CPU had to do a lot of the transformation work that 3dnow excels at.
