If you're getting the EOL message on the windows updates tab and you're on the latest Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC version, it's a bug. People have been reporting it in several places now.Chances are Microsoft doesn't give a shit though so no clue when this will get fixed, or even if it will get fixed at all.Fuck Microsoft.
>>106892351The massgrave docs on TSforge says that the reason why this message pops up is because of the ESU not being gotten from the consumer branch by the commerical branch, which Windows Update itself doesn't show if it's working or not. Guess we'll see what happens when November 11th hits.
So if I want to switch from W10 IoT Enterprise to W11 IoT Enterprise while keeping all the files, I just need to run the setup.exe from the ISO. Do I get to keep using my local account without creating the MS account?
why is this suddenly raping my pc? it does this for a bit then switches over to 'license migration tool' or something like that.
>>106892440Using a mounted ISO to in-place upgrade to the next LTSC is the official way to do it. Just tell to not install updates during the upgrade and you should be good. It'll say that you want to install IoT LTSC letting you keep all files.

>>106892461mounted ISO means virtual mounting and not putting it on a USB with rufus right?
>>106892498Yeah, just mount it with Explorer
>>106892440Oh wait, disregard my previous post, I'm retarded and need some sleep
>>106892524That's for going from a GAC edition to LTSC, anon. Anon's going from LTSC to LTSC.
Retard here. Will I regret upgrading to 11 if I have a legacy BIOS? I tried switching to UEFI but apparently I kinda fucked up the whole OS installation 8 years ago so my disk partitions are all over the place and I can't make the switch. Not only that, but the W10 LTSC installer is refusing to run so I can't even rely on it.
>>106892351awesome
LTSC isn't real windowsit's for burger king cash registersit doesn't even have games
>>106892582yeah but neither gac nor ltsc comes with genshin
>>106892582What do you gain from lying? The biggest difference is that you have to install the MS Store instead of having it pre-installed (which only takes one command)
>no esu>no windows 11 upgrade???
>>106892638I'd rather just use the winget-install script to get access to the MS Store repos via command line
>>106892657You can't get the consumer ESU with a local account. Your Windows has to be linked to an online Microsoft account. Also, the consumer ESU is only 1 yearActivate the 3 year commercial ESU with MAS TSforge insteadIf you still get the EOL message in Windows update, check your activation status with either MAS or the command in pic relatedIf your ESU is activated then you can ignore the message in Windows update, it's just a fuckup from Microsoft, you still get security updates
Is the Windows 11 creation tool on the official site still able to use the oobe bypass method or did they already update it?
>>106892657Try reading the thread, it only has 18 posts in it. This happened to me today. Installed three years ago via massgrave.
>>106892316>UI written in React Native aka JavaScript including: Start, Taskbar and Explorer that lags even on i9sIs this actually widespread and documented or this another case of PEBCAK? I've used multiple W11 boxes for work and I've not noticed any measurable difference in UI responsiveness compared to any other OS.
>>106892697It's easier to just create a USB installer with a Windows 11 ISO and Rufus which lets you enable local accounts when creating the USB installerIn fact, Massgrave recommends using Rufus to install Windows
>>106892575>awesomeI know, right.Who could have seen something like this coming.
>>106892708This happens when you're a retard who activates with something else than HWIDYou literally cannot lose an HWID activation unless you change your hardware, as it's stored on Microsoft's server
>>106892738I changed my motherboard yesterday.
>>106892713When it comes to 11 OP is just a hater.
>>106892756Then just re-activate with MAS HWID
>>106892768Thank you, I just updated and restarted my pc and it went away. I will follow the guide if it happens again. Weird.
>>106892792>everyoneI used it pretty much since day 1 and while there were other problems, UI speed has never been an issue. I can't help but think this is coming from the same type of schizos who complained about 10 being "slow" compared to their beige box no-aero 7 install.
>>106892792That's basically a perfect example of why you should always wait an LTSC version or two before switching to a new Windows versionPersonally I'm not switching to W11 before LTSC 2027
>>106892799Anon you changed your motherboard so the HWID was completely different ergo your HWID activation disappeared.
When I'm upgrading from 10 to LTSC does it fuck it up if I am logged into the account. (I need it for MS Teams)
>>106892892At that point you might as well just change over to Enterprise with MAS, re-activate and enable the ESU licenses. Also when it comes to MS accounts you should just be able to login for MS apps instead of system-wide.
Genuinely, how likely is Mr. Nutella gonna rape my boss's ass if Microsoft finds out I've installed W11 IoT (illegally) on some of the computers where I work? I've only done 30 computers so far but there's another branch opening next year with about 70 cubibcles that I would've installed W11 IoT on, but now I'm getting spooked. It's just so much easier than having to make a shitty microsoft account for every single damn computer. SoCal btw
>>106893006>Genuinely, how likely is Mr. Nutella gonna rape my boss's assHard. No lube. MS doesn't care about someone pirating windows on their home box, but enterprise installs are a whole other matter.
>>106892498Either would work
>>106893006simply tell him to fuck off
>>106893006You shouldn't do this kind of MAS-related stuff in an actual office environment. You're gonna get your shit kicked in.This is what your office's budget is for i.e. actually buying the license packs.
The thread I asked this is now archived so I'll ask this here: for using Rufus and Windows 11 Nano together to upgrade from Windows 10, I've been told I need a USB stick. However, I also learned about pic related. I assume that's only for the USB drive where you plugged in the USB stick needed for the installation of Win 11 Nano?
>>106893094Yes it only wipes the USB that you have selected to re-partition/format it for the ISO you want to flash it with.
>>106892351Yeah I just started getting this too, I'm a hue so it's 50 minutes past midnight here. >Microsoft really got so lazy that they just shat out a message saying everyone on 10 reached EOL if their system date is set to after october 14fucking kekExpect a lot of panicked burgers shitposting in the next few hours
>>106893019>>106893069>>106893072Figured, guess I'll hope for the best and pray that they aren't already after my workplace for the computers I already did, cause I did it all on my own accord loleI'll just use a debloater for the new computers and painstakingly make a microsoft account for each one
>>106893105Okay then, once WIn 11 Nano is installed, do I really keep the files I had back back in Win 10?
Is this normal? This is on W10 IoT LTSC
>>106893149If you're installing from a boot USB then most likely no. IMO you should just in-place upgrade to 11 with an ISO from your current install and debloat it afterwards as you wish.
>>106893006Extremely likely. Don't do it. For one computer is whatever but 100? You are crazy. AFAIK they're going to write a nice email to you to clarify how many computers you have the system installed on and how many licenses because LTSC is available through volumetric licensing. They are not going to care if the systems are activated or not but they will demand proof of having as many licenses as you have active computers. They sometimes do it for legitimate customers where the licenses don't add up by accident or when they're auditing. For small businesses I think LTSC IoT goes for $200 or $300 a pop. BTW you can do all of that legally. Talk to your boss, purchase the licenses and then you can use MS own tools to deploy Windows system preconfigured and not deal with any of the account shit. Why do you think it's so easy to bypass the account requirement in the first place? Because it's like that by design, all the bypasses are simple flags you set and is behaviour coded by MS itself. Sys admins don't manually go around clicking next on each computer. You don't even need to use IoT or LTSC versions. I don't remember which version was it but I remember we deployed regular Pro versions I think, definitely not the more expensive Enterprise, and the MS guy was like yeah you can do that but your licenses must all check out.But 100 computers running illegal Windows is a fuckton. I've never dealt with that number. Depending on circumstances they might go legal route immediately.

>>106893159This is just a fuckup from Microsoft. You can ignore the message, you'll still get updatesPic related
How long can I run LTSC for
I am still sitting on a shitty Win10 home edu version. Should I wait until MS fixes that eol message for everyone and then reinstall iot ltsc?
>>106893190LTSC gets updates until late 2028. IoT LTSC gets updates until 2032.With the ESU licenses, GAC 10 can get updates until late 2028 as well.
>>106893166Yeah, not 100, but around 30, which yes is still a lot. I'll reduce it to 15 tomorrow cause some of the computers are inactive and I'll whittle it down slowly. Do you think installing W11 Pro (through massgrave again...) on all the IoT computers is going to get me in the clear?
>>106893199Is your boss just a cheapskate that doesn't want to allot funds to Windows licenses?
>>106893176>>106893182It's literally the first post lol, I really need to read the thread first
>>106893190Windows 10 IoT LTSC 2021 gets security updates until 2032If you activate it with HWID (as you should), MAS will automatically switch it to IoT if it's not already, so no need to worry if you're installing a non-IoT LTSC ISO (if you need another language than English for example)
>>106893205Yeah, kinda + it's just me being a retard. The computers were already running a mixture of W10/W11 Pro before I converted them disceetly, because they're all refurbed optiplexes bought on amazon a long time ago. I'm just wondering if converting them back from IoT to Pro will require another license, cause I'm assuming the licenses for IoT will not be compatible for Pro.
>>106893215No they are not compatible. If you re-install Pro on them they won't be activated, unless your network uses a KMS server to keep everything activated and Pro is what it was originally given.
>>106893215Brother, just go to your boss and have him approve purchase of however many volume licenses your business needs, then proceed to install/activate based on those. Otherwise you're setting the company up for the kind of legal trouble where you just getting fired is actually a best-case outcome.

>>106893295If your games work on 10, no real need I guess.
is shamikoOP gone again?
>>106893215Honestly, you're fine for now. I did the same thing last year (IoT as well) with even more computers and it took me months before going back and thinking "wait, that's fucking stupid" and converting them back to Windows 11 Pro machines. Never got any email or lawsuit from Microsoft but I probably would have if I let them sit for too long. I'll tell you now though: stop being a fucking idiot and delete any IoT USBs you have immediately and throw Windows 11 Pro installations on them pronto. And don't download the fucking ISOs on your work computer. Go to work early and fix your fucking mistakes and convert all those IoT computers back to Pro. When you set up those new computers, let them connect to the internet to activate the licenses AND THEN use massgrave to install Windows 11; the license is really what Microsoft cares about when it comes to this.
>>106893284Gonna need some help with this since the catalog site seems to be written back in 2000. I do understand that the 3 options given are for different bit versions of windows, but I still get the option of two msu files when clicking on download.Which one is it?
>>106893391Just search for "22H2 cumulative" on the website and you should find the update package you're looking for.

>>106893502KB5066791 is what I'm getting.
is it a bad idea to sit on the fence for now with win 10 and see how this all plays out or should I be quick to swap over to the win 10 ltsc before something happens, like it gets removed?
>>106893509That one seems to be for ltsc versions.

>>106893566Just so I get the final part right, I am using the non-iot ltsc iso using the same language and architecture as my current windows, activate it with mas, then go to the activation page and enter the iot key to switch to iot ltsc, right?Probably going to do a backup of everything just in case I fuck things up.
>>106893545I think at the very least I want to clone my hard drive over to a backup before I try it though.I don't know if this is the thread but what cloning software do people like? i've never done it before.
>>106893199>Do you think installing W11 ProYes. Because LTSC Enterprise is for big boys and MSFT cares more. It's usually sold volummetrically unless you're in countries that allow reselling licenses. But why are you doing this? If you do something illegal it's grounds for getting summarily fired even in countries with the strictest labour laws AND legal trouble with MSFT. You're subjecting yourself to unnecessary risk so your boss can save some money. If MSFT comes knocking it'll be your ass.I assume you don't know how to deploy this stuff and don't use active directory or whatever so I'll give you a ghetto simple solution: use rufus to make the bootable USB(s). It allows you to make a local account and skip the entire intro. Use it to install Windows on all those PCs. Go to your boss and have him buy a W11 Pro license for each seat. And you're good. MSFT doesn't give a shit if they're activated "properly", they just want the licenses to add up.
>>106893601I got receipts for about 100 refurbished computers bought on Amazon over the years, so I'm sure it's fine if I point to those as proof of genuine Windows licenses. Anyway, thanks for the help, and yeah, I fucked up.
I know I can ignore this message and that I'll still get security updates, but it still bothers meDo you guys think MS will push an update earlier to fix this or do we have to wait for next month's update?

>>106892546MBR is not supported by UEFI. For UEFI to read your partition, it needs to be converted to GPT first. Third-party software is my go to for anything partition related. In gparted, it's as easy Device > create partition table > GPT.

>>106895123Gotcha. Can I upgrade to that from Education via MAS or something without having to fully wipe my drive in the process?

>>106898576When it comes to basic privacy measures, you can use group policy to toggle diagnostic data off, available in Enterprise variants only, you can also disable not very useful stuff in Defender like could based protection and sample uploading.if you want deeper approaches, you can use ShutUp10 or even more complex ones like WinUtil, although even if they have a friendly look, it's important to understand a bit what they actually do so you don't fiddle with stuff you shouldn't
