per thread title, is it worth my time fucking with one? my t440p is very long in the tooth now so idk if its worth 2k on a system 76 or just scam some macbook or newer thinkpad off amazon. pic not related

Have you actually checked their BIOS? The options are as anemic as a shitty consumer HP laptop. Besides, since all System76 laptops are Clevo rebrands, some come with soldered memory for no justifiable reason.

I'm in a very similar situation and I've decided to wait for a Strix Halo system from Tuxedo Computers.

They've been teasing a 16" Strix Halo laptop, probably Sixunited XN77. I expect that both XMG and Tuxedo will launch it in late January.
