I bought Lenovo E490 for 150$ for internet browsing. Often when I press the power button it doesn't turn off, althought when I put it away and then plug it back it rarely does turn on. The ethernet port sometimes doesn't work (only after turning off and on the laptop). I'm not even sure what's wrong with this laptop, does it have a defective or heavily worn motherboard, buttons, ports. Even my old cheap HP with a broken hinge, dead glitchy keyboard and motherboard sticking out from the chassis from 2012 doesn't have such problems. Should I exchange it for something better?

The only laptop worth purchasing at this point is the framework, and even that's a stretch.
Honestly we should all just be touching grass at this point.

I don't know what kind of errors you have, but I can see that Windows 10 is installed, its EOL.
>Just install Linux (Bluefin/Aurora) for secure browsing and auto Updates. You can also play some cool indie Games on it, older Triple A titles and Emulation. + You will find all of the stuff and more in the Appstore. Trust me, it's cozy af and a cool new Hobby.
