my pixel 7 pro screen died today, and honestly I don't feel like paying 100+ euros for a shitty knockoff screen at my local repair shop

Was thinking of buying a clean OS (like pixel) and a great camera phone

Obviously pixel 9 pro (and 10) are a choice, but people keep complaining they get worse every year, not sure why

Another option is oneplus 13, don't know how clean the UI is

absolutely no UI junk and bloatware wanted

Mine should be arriving tomorrow. As for cases, I've heard that Dbrand's are better than most but regrettably the Ghost 2.0 case is not available for the Fold, only the heavier Grip case for some reason. There's the official Google case but it seems expensive for...maybe meh? Aren't there a couple other 'premium" case brands that are pretty reliable?

Screen protectors seem to be predominantly for the front/secondary display, and given whitestonedome is no longer making stuff for th latest hardware, I figure Dbrand again may do decently with the Prism 2.0 (they did well with my Steam Deck OLED protector), but not sure how much variation there is in quality, clarity, features etc.. of tempered glass protectors. For the folding internal screen, I don't THINK there are any screen protectors as of yet, but at least this one has a a glass interior display unlike all the plastic ones that came before in previous Pixels, Samsungs, Motorolas etc. However, years ago when I got my current OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren 5G I used WhitestoneDome because it was one of the few that (thanks to UV bonding and a placement system) worked on curved displays, so I guess someone could make one for the foldables.

For chargers, I read it suggests a 45w USB-C AC adapter and that's pretty common; Anker or whatever the fuck does just fine with those? The Qi2 wireless chargers seem to fall into the handful that specifically are 'pixelsnap' compatible and the many that claim to be Qi2 certified but because of that only work on iPhones , likely made before the Pixel 10 line showed up. Would any of these be viable or is "pixelsnap" specifically special in some way outside of the magnetic Qi2 compatible chargers (or other magsafe shit that Apple uses)

i like it. i primarily got it because i like being able to hold my phone easily in one hand so i read a lot of notifications + use apps on the outer screen. there is a screen protector that gets fucked up on the inner screen near the folding area in a few months though but it still works fine. i read a lot of people completely remove the screen protector with no issues but i left mine on since i dont care as much.

i got the moto one instead of samsung because literally all apps will work on the outerside screen. i saw the samsung released a new model that utilizes the entirity of the outside screen now too but i havent looked into it too much to determine if it is compabitle with all apps like the moto. i would have probably bought the samsung model instead if that was the case back then.

so if you miss the days of having an actually small phone, i would get one since it fits that niche for me. i dont really use the inner screen much aside from doomscrolling.

Kinda leaning towards the iPhone Air at this point since I barely use S-pen (mostly annoying to me) and telephoto (although sometimes it's useful) and Android feels like it is becoming a walled garden so I figure I might as well go for Apple.

My wife's pixel 7 started charging really slowly. She would plug it on charge and it would only charge a few % in 10 minutes. So I went into settings and turned off that Battery Health Assistance crap which throttles charging speed and it started charging normally.

Well now I just found out that in new pixels like 10, the Battery Health Assistance is mandatory after 200 cycles and you can't disable it. WTF? Who the hell is going to wait around for hours for their phone to charge when the charging speed is that low? Just yet another reason to not buy Pixel anymore (as if there weren't enough already)
