What's wrong about it?

It ran away in the night.

I like it conceptually but that shit's too expensive for what it is.

what is the usecase for "folding" a phone? it is not a book

Stupid ass gimmick and it doesn't work right.

I don't know why they insist on a big ass screen on the front, people want a slim flip phone with a touch screen on the inside, that screen is so massive you might as well just just put it on the inside and then give us a touchpad/gaming style interface on the bottom.

Gendering hardware is a ridiculous idea.
>>
>>106920471
For me its just really neat tech. And it fits nicely in my pocket. Its absolutely not the most practical because its so fragile, but its just cool.
>>
>>106920495
why
>>
My biggest problem with the 2024 ultra is how limited the second screen is. I also have this bug where the wifi doesn't work correctly if I have a vpn installed.
I think the wifi and shit tier method of getting the built in screen protector replaced is making me not want to buy a new one.
I would just like a fucking smaller phone not a giant fucking slate.
>>
>>106920458
>>106920471
The "flip" form factor is useless. You get way less battery life, worse cameras, a very fragile screen... All for the privilege of making your phone twice as thick but half the height which makes it fit in exactly ZERO places where a normal phone doesn't. Pockets in the last 20 years are made to fit normal phones.

"fold" style phones do at least offer you a tablet in the size of a normal phone, making it 100% useable in folded mode too. It has enough space for OK battery life and a full camera setup even though having the same drawbacks.

Whats wrong with an iPhone? Considering it for a next phone because of that whole aosp and sideloading thing

I was a macfag for years and sort of regret it now. Not that it was bad in itself, but it made me miss out on a ton of good games.

I liked the nexus original one they releaced. Only issue is that the screen for whatever reason popped off and when I was holding it. Id constantly squeeze it together shit was annoying.

the knob turns out to be quite useless and you hit it by accident in your pocket. I had to disable it altogether.
Decent earphones though for the price (if you set the bass to 0) + works as a fidget toy I guess

If you're concerned about AOSP and side loading it means you haven't actually looked into it and you've just read the headlines.

I didn't really purchase it but I really regret not immediately selling it and building a desktop, but I was like 13 years and and didn't know shit, still no reason for a laptop to become e-waste in 3 years.

I am a macfag and regret getting everything apple so now im so balls deep in their ecosystem it's hard for me to change without spending another crap-ton of money. liquid ass is terrible and wish I never upgraded. silver lining is their MacBooks are still really great laptops.
>MacBook good
>iPhone runs good but the battery is shit
>iPad is okay
>HomePod relies on Siri and it sucks cause of that
>appletv is really good desu

what do I do anon?

they sound great if you use the EQ in the sony app. then you got a great sounding pair with LDAC (low latency connection to my android box for movie watching with no voice delay)

I think it just feels sluggish and annoying to use. Animations are too slow and block actions which makes the operating system feel unresponsive. Compared to my virgindroid phone with all the animations sped up it just feels too slow. I have also encountered more annoying UI bugs on iOS. Seems like the software quality Apple used to be known for is not there anymore.

Probably my only regret buy ever.
It's functional and I use it for backups but the USB3 Micro-B connector is the cringiest thing ever.
I realised later I could have done much better with an external SSD.
This thing is slow, sometimes it doesn't connect, and sometimes it doesn't unmount. Plus the shit connector.
>>
>>106920471
Smaller phone that's marginally thicker. It's nice to have a small phone factor again. Smartphones used to be tiny until all of the phone makers started making fablets because chinks are too cheap to buy real computers. Only downside is the cameras are shit and no maker seems to ever bother to have a cool flip phone with good cameras.
>>
>>106920069
nokia would have made it properly resistent, modern phone enterprises only know how to make glass slabs
>>
>>106925204
i also bought an chromebook tablet and absolutely regret it, a massive waste of money, its laggy and shitty. the only thing it is good for is yt vanced and reading books, but its easier to just use my phone

Pixel 9. Holy fuck is that fucking garbage. Voice commands don't fucking work and it kept switching to Gemini WHEN I WANTED GOOGLE ASSISTANT YOU FUCKING FUCK FUCK YOU ASSHOLE FUCK

> Easier storage
> More protection for screen
> The original design so really there should be a Usecase for non -folding phones
>>
>>106920095
all folding phones have incredibly flimsy plastic glass displays made by Samsung. I had this exact phone, and all it took for it to break was it slipping 3 inches out of my hand onto the corner of a hardcover book. I had it for a little over a year, just outside the warranty range. I hyperactively babied it. Not worth the stress.

The inner screen will rip itself apart at ~36F btw. It CANNOT handle cold temperatures.
>>
>>106935784
I had an 8, so many random hardware issues. Didn't even last 2 years before it was practically unusable
>>
The first GPD win. I coveted that thing, saved up for months to get it. It didn't last a year before the battery bloated. Turns out it was a common issue but I was too late for the aftermarket replacements.
>>
AGM H5. The microphone stopped working after about a year and a half of use, making it unusable as a phone.
>>
>>106924137
You mean the front screen? I guess I will admit I've had issues using it that way, but it wasn't ever out of sync.
>>
>>106920471
It's more compact that way. I would buy a normal small phone, unfortunately there aren't any available...

>Almost 30 years later I still regret buying this shit.
ouch.

i got pretty lucky in that regard, i'm just old enough that that playstation had been a contender for a couple years before i had the opportunity to pick a system for christmas. my neighbours at the time had a playstation and crash bandicoot (1) sold me. i hadn't owned a new console before then, so i had no existing desire to get a sega or nintendo system. but i'm sure owning a playstation was a factor in my choosing of a ps2, so i do get it. i'm sure there's many snes enjoyers who were disappointed by the n64, or at least were envious of the playstation, even if they didn't want to admit it. i don't regret getting either. there were obviously a handful of games on both that didn't come to the system i got, as is always the case, but they weren't a big issue for me.

i actually picked up a saturn cheaply in the early-or-mid-00's because i really wanted to try panzer dragoon saga, and at the time and/or with the hardware i had, emulation wasn't an option. i'm sure there's other good games for the system as well, but i'm pretty unfamiliar with it really
>>
>>106937180
edge displays looked cool but were prone to mistouches and they felt very slippery to hold, even with a case
>>
>>106937180
curved screens are easier to hold if you have clean hands
>>
I bought this for my kid specifically for helping him learn. Not for games, videos, or other junk. Amazon does not let you uninstall all of there mind polluting bloatware like Alexa, Luna, etc. You can't even disable the apps. Luckily I could still return it. I guess I'll just get an iPad and lock it the fuck down with parental controls.
>>
>>106938418
this is one of the extremely few scenarios where i think an apple product might be a good option
>>
>>106938389

should've gotten the non-pros :^)
>>
>>106936270
I still use it. It starts lagging sometimes and the battery is getting worse.
I also wanted to put calyx or graphene on it but I didn't have the balls because I need it to be reliable
>>
>>106936212
how does it break if it's plastic?
>>
>>106925249
>custom rom

>>
>>106940223
Yeah you're right plastics never broken ever
