For me it was mainly having good subs already muxed into the mkvs. At first I was a yify pleb, but their torrents often lacked subs, then I switched to QxR encodes on 1337x, which had proper subs, but they lacked some obscure stuff and obviously weren't well seeded, so I got my privates tracked after that.
