Modern browsers are just tiling window manager and other shit that has nothing to do with displaying HTML.

couldn't you just grab one tab and drag it to the left and then the other to the right? it even makes them fit half the screen
>>
>>106928226
You can do splitscreen in fullscreen mode and you don't have two seperate windows.
>nothing to do with displaying HTML
even though that's what firefox primarily does

WebAssembly is shit, it's going to make websites glow more
>>
>>106928224
I'm happy they implement it; I just feel sad that we went through the path of things that should be implemented in the OS being implemented in the browser instead. I wish there was a browser project with a different design philosophy that allowed more customization as far as the interface goes, and it's mostly the interface and other shenanigans that make people use one browser or another.

Maybe Ladybird pursues this other philosophy, but most likely surely not.
>>
I don't get it. Why? Which environment, where is able to firefox run, does not have the ability to put two instances side by side? Even iOS does more than one instance side by side since fucking 2014 or something

>every media player is either winamp clone custom bitmap blob animated videogame gui or a foobar2000 clone spreadsheet gui

firefox still lets you modify how it looks a lot. I don't like how they made it harder or taken away some things. However its still the best. I guess the easiest browser to modify is vivaldi but thats chrome garbage.
>>
I swear Vivaldi had this shit for a while

firefox has tiled/split/stacked/whatever tabs since version 3 or so, thats almost 20 or so years ago iirc.
still works fine, and there is profiles/layouts you can change/apply on the fly
>>
>>106929083
Not the same.
If you close one window and and the other you'll lose tabs of the first one. redundant bookmark icons bar and url bar shit clutter, min max close etc
>>106929096
way to much clutter also isn't really inside of one window.
>>
>>106929126
>If you close one window and and the other you'll lose tabs of the first one.
If keeping track of open windows is too much of a bother for you, stick with an ipad
>>
>>106929159
you ever think sometimes things happen where the window crashes or you accidentally leave it or you want to restart your system and forget to close it out correctly. im going to stomp your head in.
>>
>>106929126
>muh clutter
If you cared about clutter, you wouldn't have this problem to begin with. Enable vertical tabs, and keep everything out of the way in the sidebar so only the title bar remains.
>>106929168
Not a problem for me, but then I don't have ADHD.
>>
>>106929204
vertical tabs? lmao they are shit. I'm glad firefox is actually adding something useful.
>>
>>106928191
Modern browsers are entire operating systems, they're just written for an interpreted platform.

There's literally a menu that lets you reopen last 5 (?) closed windows, the fuck are you on about.

I was joking about the ipad, I didn't realise you were actually this dim.
>>
>>106928191
The modern operating system exists solely to provide a graphics accelerated window for a web browser to draw in.
You know it's true.
ChromeOS was right all along.
>>
>>106928191
this would be convenient, they should consider continuing to add more features that are actually useful while google chrome continues to destroy itself adding more built in ad tracking

i always browse with two windows tiled side by side. i can mange two sets of tabs this way. i don't think that i'd switch to having it per tab like this.

Split "tab" view is BS absolutely nobody needs.
Hell, even "tabs" itself would not have made it if people had used unix like machines in 2005... because they had tab management as a window manager feature on basically everything back then. The browser simple has no business in this.
>>
>>106930561
>Split "tab" view is BS absolutely nobody needs.
I didn't know how much I needed it until now. And no, its not as efficient nor as cozy tiling two instances together. That's always annoying.
>>
Edge had this for a very long time. Firefox could have it way earlier too but they rather put more AI slop and google shit into the browser than fixing things
>>
>>106928191
actually this is kinda cool? itd be great for watching video and having a chat up.
its too bad i can't "buddy" together two separate windows in a de so they're always joined at the hip without going full tiling since i can't do full tiling as an animator (i tried; doesn't work).

Oh man you nigger fuck head. Let me spend the next 10hrs explaining why this doesn't work. Everyone saying xyz is there doesn't get how shit and annoying each of these options are. I've tried them and there is always some retarddd issue with the tiling. I will use this new feature a fuckload . KILL YOURSELF!

You actually have to render HTML to display the websites that it's showing. Idiot

useless if it doesn't have synced scrolling THOUGH, which I doubt is possible without yet another extension.
>>
>>106928191
Wow, I can't believe Firefox will add at some point in the future something that you could easily do several years ago before they removed XUL support for literally no fucking reason. Incredibly based.
Pretty much like when Microsoft adds to Windows 11 "new" features that were already in Window 7 or even XP and got removed at some point. I love how "modern development" is adding back removed features, just more limited than they used to be and using 10x more ram, God bless Indian developers.
>>
>>106933130
>I love how "modern development" is adding back removed features
I'm still mad that the "Windows App" is just a shitty RDP client.
>>
>>106928191
You should've been bitching when Firefox added "AI" (if/else statements) to their HTML viewer.
>>
>>106928226
Stop making sense! Firefox has to justify itself for Google's monopoly somehow! Now enjoy the shitty "AI," Foxie.
>>
>>106928224
