If you don't own a multitool and carry it around everywhere, you are not a man, simple as. The only exception is if you got an office job, a pocket knife with multiple tools like a victorinox is ok in that situation.
I've got a wave and I don't care for it.
>>106928616:(
>>106928634It sees occasional use as a thick knife to open shit that's clipped or glued together, a file once in a blue moon, and as a mediocre set of pliers the rest of the time.Generally speaking, I reach for the craft knife first with a fresh blade, my actual files second, and the wave only when I need pliers, a job it's usually not good enough for and I need either needle nose, vice grips, or adjustable pliers.
>>106928674In my experience the leatherman pliers are fantastic on the high end mutlitools.
>>106928607EDC IS GAY
>>106928904no you. you are edc-ing your phone, keys, wallet, etc.
>>106928607>If you don't own a multitool I do>and carry it around everywherethat's illegal.
I just use a cheap thai multitool. I tried sharpening the knife with a whetstone but I'm doing poorly.
mine is bigger
>>106928607i have a letherman surge in my tool bag and a sog powerpint i carry most of the time. mostly because it fits in the small pocket of my jeans so i dont waste pocket space on it
>>106928607Nextool Mini Flagship. You don't need more.>But I'm American. I need an oversized, overpriced Leatherman™ because a jewish doctor cut part of my penis off.Cope.
>>106929852No its not, multitools are acceptable swiss knives are generally considered not weapons for example in most civilized countries (as long as you keep it concealed and only use it for its tool purposes). Check your local laws.
>>106929879>>106929912>mine is bigger
>>106929915>Check your local laws.I have, and I said what I said. Welcome to the EU I guess.
>>106928607What makes you think my office doesn't have a full tool cart?Plenty of tools at home.Plenty of tools in my car.Plenty of tools at work. Why would I put hard to use miniaturized tools in my pants?
So what would you even use it for?It doesn't really make sense to me in a post Philips vs Torx world.
>>106929933That's dumb, if you have a purpose for it, generally you can carry it. (You are fixing things with.) What sort of fucking Shithole EU country do you live in anyway? Not everywhere here is like UK.
>>106929933May or may not.Depends on if the problem is blade length, or just having a sharp point.
>>106929933>>106929949It's only illegal if you get caught. Fuck pencilneck law makers.
>>106929915Here in The Netherlands it's all about intent. If you carry a big knife to use as a tool that's fine.If you carry a screwdriver to use as a weapon that's illegal.Police and judges can make that distinction easily in most cases.A worker carrying a saw in daytime is clearly different from a youth carrying a saw at night.
>>106929921>use a smaller tool so I don't feel cucked
>>106929940they are not hard to use, they are easy and comfy
>>106929940always available if it's on me.
>>106929989>Here in The Netherlands it's all about intent.>Police and judges can make that distinction easily in most casesAs if corruption and personal prejudices aren't a thing. One bad cop and you're fucked, some people have an irrational fear against knives and will throw the books at you at every opportunity.Same shit in Canada. Doesn't matter if you use it normally every day, if you so much as think "well maybe I'd use it for defense against an armed murderer", it's automatically a weapon and illegal to carry. The batshit retarded knife laws here make me only "comfortable" carrying a small victorinox for daily use, since it would probably be the hardest for some dipshit to frame as a weapon. Subjectivity should have zero place in these laws since it's impossible to draw a line.
For me, it's the Wingman(tm) I've literally carried this shit every single day for over 10 years, and it still functions as brand new. I keep the outside folding knife extremely sharp, and the scissors are 10/10 best ive ever used in a multi tool. It doesn't have a lot of the dumb shit more expensive leathermans have, like changable bits and shit like that. Only a retard would want those features anyway, vs just keeping a driver set in the backpack for when a job demands it.The purpose of a multi tool is to allow you to skip reaching into your bag a lot of the time. The wingman nails this.
>>106931483based. I want one. I was windering between wingman and sidekick, wingman has s issors and oackage opener while sidekick has saw and snall serrated blade, everything emse is the same.
>>106931575I'm biased because I'm so used to the wingman, but I've got the sidekick and it just doesn't feel quite as good desu. It might just be that it isn't as broken in.
>>106931483i used to have a leatherman but i dropped it one day and it brokei got a cheap gerber one on sale and its been decent but now they cost 50 dollars of course
>>106931623How far did you drop it from? I'm shocked it broke honestly unless it was from a big height. Typically if you send the broken tool to them they will send you a new one.
>>106931483For me it was the Skeletool CX.I worked in IT, as the "boots on the ground" supporter. My main need was a reliable knife for slicing open parcel box, and cutting the plastic bands on extra sealed ones. You dismiss the changeable bits, but it was actually the second most used feature of the tool for me. Even more than the actual pliers.I used the screwdriver every week to open up PC cases. Having an interchangeable bit was awesome, as it allowed me to use the larger phillips head for unscrewing the case, and then just flipping it around to use the smaller one on the components within.I'll agree that the second bit, with the flat-head, was somewhat useless. I think I used it a couple of times, over the span of 2 years, and those times it was just as a prying tool, since no one uses flat head screws any longer (thankfully).
>>106928607>If you don't own a multitoolI own multiple.>and carry it around everywhere,Carrying a cold weapon is an offense in my country. The punishment can vary from a fine to criminal liability with a jail time.>you are not a man, simple as.Guess, my self-proclained "conservative" government, who makes these laws, doesn't actually want man to be a man.
>>106928607I carry and use daily, a Leatherman wave+. I have used it in several different industries. Currently in IT.
>>106930743>One bad cop and you're fuckedBad cop, bad judge, appeal, another bad judge, appeal again, another bad judge. You would have to be super unlucky, and in reality if you stay calm and polite it's never an issue.
>>106928729leatherman fucking rocks, I got a skeletool a while back for a cheap price and I really like it
