phones shouldn't need to have a case on them before it can sit flush on a surface. The direction that phone design has gone in after Steve Jobs died is literally backwards.
>>106939653People can say what they want, but this shit never would have happened on Steve's watch.
>>106939731You forget how far we've fallen.
>>106939653Phones shouldn’t need a case, they should be durable.
>>106939911they don't now. morons put them on anyways.
>>106939911Ironically, despite what internet neckbeards claim, modern smartphones are durable as fuck.We are at a point where, even on a budget Android device, it's basically impossible to scratch the screen by accident. Dropping it will cause some bumps and scratches on the outside if you don't use a case, but it's purely an aesthetic issue. Been using my current phone wihout a case for over 4 years and not an issue so far.I used to see normalfags with cracked screens around all the time, but they have gotten rarer and rarer.
>>106939911Phones are very durable, but morons will use a phone without a case and then drop it and cry about how scratched up and dinged it looks. A case prevents scratches and will protect the screen for those unfortunate drops that can crack the screen.
>>106940189>>106940226>>106940270I am putting my phones always in a case and put a display protector on because of the re-sale value.
>>106940226>>106940270The fact that modern phones might survive a drop if you are lucky doesn't mean they are durable.I had pic related and it was nearly indestructible.Even the "ultra super duper durable" smartphones break way too easily.I have to buy a new smartphone every 6 months because they break.I could use the Nokia brick for a decade and it would just keep going.
>>106940450>nokia's were so indestructible!!!11!!No one gives a fuck, horses don't require gasoline either but no one uses them for transportation anymore.>I have to buy a new smartphone every 6 months because they break.Do you need to wear a helmet and bib at all times because you're a drooling retard? If you're breaking your phones every 6 months, you're doing it on purpose or 3D printing them out of paper.
>>106939911The problem isn't durability, it's the fact that every company insisting on glass backs and smooth sides makes the damn things too damn slippery without a case.
>>106939653I hate when phone sits flush with surface. Even when I had such phone I would glue on one of those small plastic bumps.
>>106940189>they don't now. morons put them on anyways.Nah, phones are designed to be used with cases. It's basically impossible to use phone with no case, shit is so slippery and awkward to hold in hand.
>>106939653>look we made this phone really thin>oh but you have to add the thickness back with a battery pack if you want to get any real use out of it in a day beyond retarded
>>106940548>If you're breaking your phones every 6 months, you're doing it on purpose or 3D printing them out of paper.I broke my new Jewgle Pixel because I sat on a chair and it fell out of my pocket.I'm not going to start thinking about "what if I break muh phone" all the time. That's annoying.I either have to accept that phones are disposable items or constantly worry about breaking them.
>>106939731>my magic jeet would never>>106940226For 2 reasons: first is that your "budget android device" isn't made out of glass. And the second is that the average normalfag is much more sedentary now than they used to be. I know some more active normoids and their phones are all scuffed and scratched.>>106940974Why is modern technology so obsessed with making thin devices? They're not any more easy to care because of their huge screens, which drains more battery. The same battery you had to cut down in size to make the thing thinner. They're not even lighter than the older stuff. What's the point?
>>106939653why did the macbook pro heal with the fatter slab and the iphone went backwards?it has to come down to them just wanting to use less material
>>106940794skill issue
I like phone loops so I'll continue using cases, I also use screen protectors because I put them in my pocket along with keys constantly.
>>106941401>What's the point?it's a purely aesthetic thing, form over function samsung have already binned their version (edge) for the s26 line
very valid complaint anon
>>106942194Great. Thanks anon.
>>106940684I miss my 2014's moto g rounded, almost rubbery back
Tim Apple has increased investor wealth far more than Jobs ever could have dreamed. That's what is important.
>>106943739They don't make 'em like they used to
why does my digital camera from 20 years ago have a telescoping lens but they still haven't figure that out on smartphones?

>>106939653Up until the air, I would have agreed with you. iPhones had been getting too heavy.https://socialcompare.com/en/comparison/apple-iphone-product-line-comparison
>Sell you a thinner phone>Make it expensive and flimsy at the same time>That'll be $50 for our official case>Your 2025 phone is now even thicker and heavier than a 2010 phone in your pocket, and an inch or two taller.Just fucking bring back top and bottom bezels, they were much better for typing anyway as it kept your thumb positioned more naturally.
