Wanted to buy a vr headset for a long time now
Whats about the best headset you can buy in a price range of 600€
>>
>>106940363
Is this a subtle attempt at shilling Zuck's dork glasses
>>
>>106940363
Meta Quest 3/3S
>>
>>106940363
despite the price tag the quest 3 is very high rez but its something youll only notice if you play pcvr
>>
>>106940363
Index if you're willing to buy used
Beyond 2 if you're willing to triple your budget
Otherwise Quest 3

Or wait even longer for the next Valve headset to come out and cost you somewhere around 1000€
>>
>>106940363
quest3 can play any vr game or app, unless you want to sex in vrchat, in that case you need 2000+ eur and rtx5090
>>
>>106940487
a 3090 is fine, vrchat only cares about vram
>>
Quest 2 or 3s for muh eye aesthetics
>>
>>106940363
its going to be the quest 3 or 3s hands down. You can also get the quest 3 officially refurbished I heard.

It's also not completely impossible that a low cost version of valve's next headset could happen. But there's almost zero evidence they are punching below the $1200 price point. It probably comes out early next year.
>>
>>106942157
>valve's next headset
Anyday now...
>>
Get an index, yeah it's $1,000 but it's also the only VR headset worth getting. If you can't afford to blow the extra cash just don't get VR, it isn't worth it.
It's also crazy and insane and completely fucking retarded that the Index is still the best option on the market but it makes sense since it was the only one made with consumer quality in mind rather than pumping something out as fast as possible to sell product.

I have a quest2 and I enjoyed it very much for both PCVR and native, therefore I recommend the 3 as I have heard it is an improvement in every category.

I recommend "Rec Room" as a way to get your VR legs and sample different types of games. It is pretty good at not overloading you with nausea.

For games "Into the Radius" is my most played. Has a sequel now. If you own "No Man's Sky" play it in VR. Blade and Sorcery and golf games are worth playing. VR flight sims are great, but I find VR driving sims don't add much over flatscreen.
>>
>>106943423
I'm not trying to diminish you but you have bad taste. Into the Radius is beyond jank to the point it may as well be a 50 cent unity game just thrown on some .io site. I cannot understand how people enjoy it and play it at all, it's literally exactly what you would get if 2-4 indians tried to ape STALKER and then half-ass slapped VR onto it.
No Man's Sky is also terrible in both VR and material reality.

Blade and Sorcery, Minigolf, Pavlov, and small short indie VR games are still the best you can get outside of porn games and tripping on mushrooms in neat visual spaces.

When I first got my index I played for 9 hours straight without anything but piss breaks and the following night I had the most lucid dream I've ever had in my life and I was wearing the VR headset and had the controllers in my hands, and I was getting them to do Gmod-esque stuff.
When I woke up my motor functions were completely fucked up and it was like I had sealegs, and I kept swinging my hand into shit like my body was expecting it to noclip through. Smashed it on the door handle trying to go piss.

I researched online and there were a lot of people at one point posting on leddit about "VR dreams" and had an exact experience to mine, fucked up motor functions and all. When I went back to sleep and woke up again it was fine, but people were hypothesizing your brain was trying to subconsciously account for imperceptible lag because the index lenses work a specific way with the human eye to illusion a 3D virtual space as realistic as they could.

Did anyone else have something similar? I literally only had it the first time and never again.
>>
>>106940363
Q3 is the best one now just due to having the best software support and having the most standalone games made for it.

i know theyve been saying it for years but i'd wait for the end of the year atleast to see if the new valve headset is coming out
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIM3KYrSwpE

PCVR is amazing but it's really barren and there's very few new titles coming out in recent eyears
>>
>>106943353
You will not find a more retarded post than this one
>>
>>106944049
Yours beats it.
>>
>>106943566
I've heard anons talk about VR disassociation and tetris effect before, surprised its not brought up more often. I would wake up and question if I was in VR and test to make sure. With my hands to my side, I would feel like I could move by just pressing the analog stick instead of walking. It's ironic because so many 3rd worlders want to fox and grapes that VR isn't realistic and I would say that's possibly a good thing.
>>
>>106944066
>no u
>>
>>106944083
Apparently you can make it even more vivid by putting strain on your motor functions and portions of the limbic system by adding weight bracers on your body while in VR and looking at your arms in a game that simulates having a body like Sword and Sorcery. I bet those treadmill things would also exacerbate it in many ways.
It's weird that we've made sensory experiences that strain the brain in such ways because it's too realistic for it to easily discern. I wonder illusions used by mystery schools were used for a similar purpose, to induce mild psychedelic experiences by straining the supplementary motor area of the brain.
>>
>>106943531
Stalker games have always been jank and the anomolies are part of that. ITR looks good if you run it with a good machine on PCVR. Also your recommendation is the same as mine except you added pavlov, which is also jank plus relies on multiplayer.

>>106944121
>tangent
Adding a gunstock for your controllers (I 3d printed mine) will greatly enhance aiming in any VR shooter. Just holding your hands out there will result in imperceptible wiggles that the controller accelerometers will amplify.
>>
How good is quest passthrough? At this point I'm mostly interested in playing regular games but being able to see my keyboard/mouse/
flight stick
>>
>>106944461
why didn't it work
>>
>>106944470
>>106944461
Right duh this isn't /v/. It's hard to tell sometimes.
>>
I've been wanting a VR headset for a while, but I'm going to keep waiting. Valves next headset might be the ticket.
>>
>>106940363
I got used(for 2 days) quest3 for $300 and there is actually shitton of npc's selling in that range barely used vr headsets.
>>
>>106940363
>600€ budget
buy 1x screen (either 4k in 16:9, or 1440p in ultrawide)
buy 3 x good mouse
buy 2 x cheap keyboard

Voila, you should be good for the next 10 years.
>>
>>106946350
I'll wait until another npc (hint: it's you) sells its slightly-more-used-than-barely-used vr headset for $150.
>>
>>106940435
Does the quest 3 also send all my jacking data to zuck so he can watch it like a good little metacuck or can I block/disable those telemetry operations
>>
>>106940363
Never buy anything from fakebook. Wait for the steam index 2/frame/deckard. Everything else is just a toy (and a nigger)
>>
>>106940467
Would I have to 3d print my own eye socket for that?
>>
>>106944416
>Stalker games have always been jank
They've never been pajeet indie dev tier trash. Slavjank isn't even remotely similar and is worlds of quality beyond that. There are entire universes of quality between ITR and Pavlov, the latter is remotely polished. ITR is less polished than even EYE Divine Cybermancy and has no depth to carry it.
>>
>>106943353
this is the most retarded comment in this thread
>>
>>106946556
You realize that 99% of VR threads on /g/ are run by paid shill, right?
All the comments in here are retarded pieces of advertisement.

The index fucking demolishes anything in the market right now in every single measure save for having chords. It has the best controllers, the highest resolution, the best quality, and probably the best sound of any peripheral made. I think it's a huge heavy piece of shit which should be telling to how I feel about the rest of the VR market. It's a huge heavy expensive piece of shit that should be like $600 max, shit like the quest shouldn't even exist it's just garbage. Not even going to remotely suggest I give a shit enough about the console ones to even acknowledge them.
If you're going to get a VR headset you're already a money waster buying expensive mildly interesting baubles, you as well get the one that's only 30% more expensive because you're not going to replace it with generation II for decades from now, if ever.

And yes, it's specifically because the Index got popular slightly with some fringe normalfags that the other dumb jew companies tried to latch on with their cheap ass pajeet-tier knockoffs.

The fact the index uses infrared lasers rather than having some internal headset contraption in order to mark space around it is enough to set it miles apart from any competition at the moment and for the past several years. I was expecting them to have cordless headsets that were improved upon the index's basic designs and concepts rather than this. Everyone else is closer to this than it is the Index.
>>
>>106946660
Both Index and Quests are dogshit

One day, you chinks will have to realize that nobody gives a damn about your shitty neighbours.
So whenever you crack jokes about them out of nowhere, you out yourself as a chinkjeet.

It's like if I, a french, would randomly crack jokes about belgians. It's nonsensical.
>>
>>106946693
Can you not speak ESL at me nigger.

>>106946701
All VR except Index is dogshit and Index is child's toy that fell into said dogshit. There is objectively no better headset on the market in any factor beyond wireless.

Not a single game looks good on any VR. It's all shit. What the fuck are you even talking about the other headsets look even shittier too, by a very drastic measure.
>>
>>106946716
>upset
Nope. Amused, perhaps.
>video
Didn't watch it. The thumbmail was enough to ascertain you were an idiot.

what a fucking spastic you are

>How good is quest passthrough?
Not good enough. You can barely make out the keyboard buttons.
