What are my options for an MP3 player that doesn't have wifi or bluetooth? I want Something old-school. Do I just buy an old Zune, or are there reliable modern options?

Compatible with Rockbox (research if you're not aware, it's great). But it's powered by MicroUSB. Also, research Fiio players in general.
I bought one on AliExpress for 4 dollars delivered plays FLAC and any other format takes micro SD and charges via USB CIt's a beauty I use it mowing the lawn , it has Bluetooth too

It is incredibly finicky, I had to edit tags on dozens of albums for the tracks to be recognized as part of an album rather than orphaned tracks. There was a third party patch (Z2_FolderJPG_Patch_Generic.exe) to make it reliably recognize folder.jpg album art.

Surfans f20 with rockbox. Can keep it software if you need BT sometimes. It works very well and looks great
