If you don't have an 8K monitor you're living in the past, this thing makes 4k look like 720p

the cool thing about 8k is that it has perfect integer scaling for pretty much every standard resolution including 1440p.

Honestly it seems like finding a high-res monitor below 27-30" is a hard task these days, and if you're lucky enough it could be 23/24".
I get why there's more of a market for larger monitors, but the possibility of sharp pixel density on a high-res small monitor would be incredible.

Yeah I have the same problem, using a 4K at 32" and a 1440p at 24.
And both have to have upscaling, or else I can't read the text.

Sure pixel density is nice but getting even more of it when I can barely use would be useless. I'd have to go with a 60" monitor, basically a TV

>>
>>106957922
>remember when people said this about 1080p
1. Never happened.
2. Tech used to actually advance at a non-insignificant pace.
3. Vidya is more unoptimized than ever before.
4. 1080p wasn't even quad 720p.
People are still mostly using 1080p and 1440p panels, yet here you're expecting the absolute overkill quad-quad-1080 to become viable at 120hz+ without an absolutely massive breakthrough in tech. And then the only real usecase is integer scaling from all common lower resolutions, not native. Not worth the premium for most people.

>>
>>106953048
Probably not, for example on a 4k 27" monitor at about 65cm viewing distance you can still see aliasing in video games if they're just running at native res with no AA. It's significantly less than lower resolutions but it's still there, so the pixel density isn't quite there yet but it's getting close. 8k might be above the threshold where you could just render at 8k with no AA and the monitor would have physical pixels so small that aliasing is no longer visible, though I haven't seen any 8k 27" monitor IRL in order to know.
>>
>>106961128
isn't most modern slop either a forced low res render upscaled, or so badly optimised that you couldn't render it in native UHD on a nuclear reactor? i still chuckle to myself thinking back on some chucklefuck posting cyberpunk screenshots on here like it was the second coming, when he refused to believe his ebin 4K grafx was all upscaled blurry shit.

NEC haven't made their monitors in Japan in ages, most of their coveted CRTs were not made there.
Eizo still makes their monitors in Japan to this day, but I've heard of QC issues with their products popping up in recent years so I think they don't really manufacture their panels or the components there anymore like they used to.

The 8k TV I had did some ai upscaling, it made 1080p movies look really good.
I had a 3090 at the time so most games ran about 30-40fps without dropping settings. It was a clarity upgrade over 4k.
Going 4k to 8k felt similar to going from 1440p to 4k.
