not OP, but i do, and there are cases where ASM is legitimately easier to write what you need than even C is. not always, and it's certainly pretty rare, but that scenario does exist
generally speaking, though, C is your best bet. python is fine for scripting shit, though
java you should only use if your program needs to run on literally every computer in existence without any setup
