How much storage space should a gaming PC have?
>>106960495idk man how many games do you want to download?
yes
If you're an AAA slopper about 2-4 TB
>>106960495are you a hoarder?
>>106960495does your pc have USB ports?
I’ve never used more than a 500GB drive on my main pc for the past 14 years
I've got a 1TB hard drive installed and I don't think I've ever come close to filling it.It's currently sat with about 150GB of data on it. Can't think of anything else to fill it with.
>>1069604952tb is enough for most new AAA stuff before you get bored and delete it off for the next bunch of games you download. Even in retro gaming emu stuff 2td is enough to save massive amounts of games with good data compression if you hoard
I have two drives, a 231GB drive with windows installed on it and 1TB drive. Can I install games on my drive with windows on it or should I avoid that? I heard it is bad and it slows down the PC.
>>106960654Good boy!
>>106960495512gb SSD, 12tb HDD
>>1069604952-10 desu and honestly it's better to have 2-4 and move the rest externally on a NAS
>>106960495I have a 512 gb ssd and I play one game at a time. Why should I hoard shit I won't even play anyway? It is just fine.
>>106960495I've skimped on SSD's before and suffered for it. Nowadays I go for the largest I can get my current main drive is a 4 TB. Would have gone higher if they had stock at the time.AI models I typically run range from 20 to 60 GB and I got dozens of them loaded.
>>106961522>AI models I typically run range from 20 to 60 GB and I got dozens of them loaded.you will pay for this
>>106961536Believe me I've already paid plenty for this hobby.
>>106960654And that's why you cry about every game that takes up more space than a dual-layer dvd title from 20 years ago.
first you fill out your m.2 slotsyour os should have a 500gb ssd to itself and you should try to keep it decently empty to extend its longevitythen you get a game storage ssd that should be at least 1tbthen you have an archival hdd where you dump big shit you don't want to redownload or other things like pics and screenshots and mods and all the other trash you collect by just using your pc
>>106960495about three fiddy (terabytes)
>>106960495100GB is enough if you only play retro, learn to ask questions propperly, you fucking retard
Anything below 1 TB is poorfag tier.
>>106960495Idk. Ive got a 2tb ssd OS drive and 4 wd gold drive totalling 34 TB. 2 drives are mirrors of eachother though. Incase the real important shit fails.I dont play many games though. Heldivers 2 and B.A.R.
I've got 2.7tb totalStarted with a 256gb sata ssd + 1tb hddadded a 500gb sata ssd for gaems later down the lineand added a 1tb nvme later on for games and some extra storage, didn't need it but it was nice to havethanks for reading my blog be sure to subscribe
>>106960495if hoarder 8TB if not 1TB
I have 4.5 TB M.2 nvme storage for AI modelsI have 10 TB in sata SSD for game & moviesI definitely need more. There's some AAA slop that I'm never gonna play because i hate moviegames (Resident Evil 8, etc.)i just can't delete anything. I feel like I have to preserve all this art. I also think the internet is gonna go out permanently at some point and I'll need too have hoards of entertainment to pass the time before I off myself
>>106960654Noo how dare you not to play AAA slop! why dont you download +100 GB on a daily basis! You are so plebbit!1!!!! arghghgh!!
>>106960495you can fit every good game ever made on 128gb
>>106960495just need the highest performance drive you can and supplement the smaller drive size with faster internet if you can.otherwise aim for 1-4TB, more if your willing to get a bulk storage mechanical drive and don't mind moving files over to your faster drive.
>>106960495Probably doesn't speak for anyone else, but for Steam, I uninstall any game that I haven't played for exactly greater than 2 years. So my usage tends to be about 1013GB (just under 1TB)Then if you add the rest of the games that I have that are non-steam related, it's about 1.3TB including Steam. This is split among two drives: 1 SSD and 1 HDD - drives D: and E: in pic rel. The games that never get updates goes on the HDD and the games that always get updates stay on the SSD for fragmentation purposes. Speed is irrelevant once the game loads into the RAMBut for my next rig, I'm going for 4TB dedicated TLC SSD for Steam/Game drive, which is good enough for futureproofing assuming I only keep the recent games I've played installed.
>>106960495All of it.
>>106960495depends on how many games you play
>>106960495I have 160TB and I have around 40 left
>>106961478I do the same for single player games, not going to start or buy a new one if I don't finish the current one.But I have another 512 GB ssd for my multiplayer games since I have them installed all the time.
