I can't believe I ignored this shit for years, this is the best OS I've used in my whole life.Top tier shit and anyone who says otherwise is a RETARD!!!
>>106961480>Top tier shit and anyone who says otherwise is a RETARD!!!Its mid.
>>106961480>Virtualbox?Nigga I'm happy that you try Loonix, but wtf.. install it on bare metal or kys
Mint is for retards.
Mint is the best distribution of Linux primarily because of Cinnamon, the premiere Linux desktop environment developed in house by the Mint Team
>>106961505Gotta test them before I dedicate to one. Most of these seem way too autistic for normal PC use. I might throw one on an old PC or laptop for fun though.
For me, it's the Update Manager, the Software Center and it just working
>>106961622If you enjoy outdated software and flatpacks, sure why not.Try installing the latest nvidia drivers along with cuda tools (13) and come back to tell how well it is just "working".

My laptop with a QCWB335 wifi card keeps disconnecting from the internet after a few minutes, then remains undetectable until I plug my router off the wall. I'm running on Linux Mint. I haven't tried a different network yet so I'm not sure if this is my home router's problem or Mint.
>>106961750wow they live rent free on ur brain, chuddiejokes aside, wayland is just a better option, i don't need a 40 year old display server with tons of legacy shit acting as a very slow IPC between my input, compositor and kernel.
>>106961668
>>106961480i dont get the mint obsession, cinnamon is kinda trash compared to KDE IMO, even trash tompared to regular ubuntu gnome.if you want ubuntu's packages just get ubuntu
>>106961773> muh modernitystill cannot use share my screen in slack, i need to use the browser version for this
>>106961554Cinnamon is literally bloatware
>>106961480How do I get the Touchbar working in Mint? I found some directions but I am a linux n00b and not sure how to follow the instructions.
>>106961480Honest question, no bait or anything and some premises before:I am on Arch currently (been for 5 years, same system, no hopping or reinstalling) and had no issue or at least no major ones I couldn't fix in few minutes. So my question is- why would I use Mint over Arch? What does it give me that I do not have?I know it's based on ubuntu which I do not like because of it's company canonical.
>>106961480I personally considering ZorinOS 18. It looks pretty neat. Still wondering if in the future, considering that ChromeOS is going to introduce Android in their eco-system, even Zorin is going to introduce it natively, maybe in order to cover the Widgets part of the OS functionalities.
>>106961480it's usable but far inferior to windows or mac.>noo theyll disable updates and then youll have to buy new pcdont care havent updated in years
>>106962235No one will answer because they have no answer. They use Mint because they do not know how to use Arch and somehow blame Arch for them not knowing what they are doing.
>>106961614>Gotta test them before I dedicate to one.Test Debian instead.
Wait until you try Pop! OS COSMIC.
Mint Xfce is comfyCinnamon feels like a hobbyist project though

What's better for an ancient laptop, Mint Xfce or Cinnamon?I know Xfce is lighter, but I don't know how well Mint pulls it off

>try mint to de-windows my life>all network adapters stop working for no fucking reason after updating I've gone for debian since then. Never had issues with it.
>>106961505Rest in peace, King Terry. Society failed you. We did not deserve you. You brought us Mr. God's Third Temple, and we ignored you, some even shut you down. You deserved better.
I only do a fresh install when I build a new computer, usually. Windows has worked just fine for that, can I do the same in Mint while still getting updates if I want to switch?
>>106965254KDE has both tags and comments and they index-able and search-able.Idiot.
>>106962235To be honest, I have no clue how to use Arch. I have tried few times. Manjaro as well and everything ends up messed up from me. Seeing how it happens to me only and there are millions of people using Arch normally I'd say the issue is in me.It is probably the same for all others except they pretend it is something else.Mint just works for me, no issues.
only thing that isnt debian, fedora or arch that is actually worth using

>>106967284>>106967627I love how he shut the fuck up once you showed him
Why are you idiots using Mint when there are better option, like Arch? Just absolute Morons?Or just regular pajeets who finally learned kali is not daily driver? Most likely all of the above
>>106962235You would not. Mint is for people with no desire to read patch notes. That's what it comes down to. If you're already willing and capable of manually adjusting certain things if needed, Arch is superior. I personally don't want to do that. I want my system already pre-configured to what I need and updates not potentially break anything, which is why I chose Ubuntu Studio LTS years ago.
>>106971795I can count on my hand how many times patch notes were needed for me to read during last 5 years and I did not even read them and still managed with no issues. There are pre configured arch distroes, like CachyOS, EndeavourOS, Manjaro and others which do the hand holding for you like Mint does.
>>106971788This is why no one likes Linuxfags.
>>106971913I agree, most people have second thoughts when they see how most of them are and when they realize who they are. It associated bad things with GNU/Linux and then it spreads to others, like a meme.So GNU/Linux would greatly benefit from less people such as those filthy pajeets.

>>106972390I mean Linux is built into Windows so yeah
>>106972657>Performance increaseYeah but are we talking a 20% increase or a 0.1% increase. >>106974188Incremental performance, depends from update to update.Like I've usually, so sometimes it does not, but it usually IS. Up to 9% in one case for my rig.Remember that CPU/GPU tiers bring 1-5% percent (or less often)So this is BIG.It plato-es at some point, depending of age of hardware but that just means it maxed it's performance.
