Should I just get the Macbook or invest in a Framework laptop. I want a small laptop, ideally 13 inch. My dream laptop would run on Linux with a long battery life, but I hear framework laptops have shit webcameras and horrible battery life. Should I give up on the Linux laptop dream?

>invest in a depreciating asset
I don't understand

13-inch. I don't want to carry around a massive desktop-sized laptop, I travel a lot and have limited space to carry items.

Time + productivity is in the investment. I understand English isn't your first language so you think that I'm buying a stock of a Macbook.

No clit, no buy.

Just get the cheapst macbook air, it's better than this crap.

That's what I was thinking. I love toying around on Linux, but I'm growing up and I need to focus on being productive and I need hardware that I don't have to spend countless of hours tinkering with and dealing with a shitty battery since my new job requires a lot of travel.

Sadly yes. MacBooks have many flaws but their hardware typically isn't one. Windows is going to shit, I've been using Linux for almost 20 years now and I started off by dual booting on a hand-me-down laptop. If you really want to use Linux, then set up a vm at home that you can remote in to via a vpn and connect to it through a macbook. You'll have all the benefits of good build quality and great battery life without having to deal with the nonsense of mac os. Framework has a good mission but they're not there yet. It's still too pricey and personally I don't see how making everything super easy to disassemble, even at the cost of rigidity is a good thing. I'm going to wait till they're more refined but in the meantime I'll pick up a cheap macbook for any laptop needs

They make smaller business class laptops, anon
What the other anon is trying to say is buy a slightly used business class laptop. You'll get a better product for cheaper

Yes. Anything and everything associated with Vaginus Sebastian in any way is automatically a meme.

Get a System76 laptop instead. They are just as repairable and have better keyboard layouts.

Got myself m4 air and did not regret. It is light (1.2kg or smt), battery usage is better than my corporate thinkpad.

I am using it for office work, music production in Ableton, rekordbox, running small abliterated models, browsing etc.

Just don't update it to Tahoe and you should be good.

It has great battery life with Linux. Also it's the official choice of National Socialists

Worse, the CEO and most of the top members are "first generation" Americans from San Fransisco. Aka jeets.
