For example, samsung might want a comp sci degree guy to come and make them an AI specifically for detecting foods in the fridge and optimizing the best temperature to keep all the said foods at their best states. Or an AI for beds to detect sleeping patterns and give you feedback while sending telemetry to Amazon.
Idk I got an IT job through nepotism, ai just have a HS diploma (I wanted to put a smiley, but I realize I'm incredibly fortunate and am very thankful so I didn't want to seem like a dick ro those who aren't that fortunate, but I won't deny that I am happy about it :))

Even if u get one, are those "IT jobs" even worth their money? Obviously that's a broad category and there are all types of projects you could work on, but tech guys never actually seem happy or say how exciting and genuinely interesting their job is, it's always about the money or the big name they're working for. It seems like you work on some shit you give zero fucks about but accept it because the pay is good. I've never had one of those jobs so I'm wondering if it's even the right thing for me. I don't want to be a miserable code monkey dude

I barely can cook the most simple meals. I most eat goyslop. My work in tech is mediocre but was the only thing keeping me even slightly afloat until I lost my job last year which I just had a basic job in IT and doing some freelance work which all dried up since the 2020s as I never could get a job as my programming skills are pretty low-end and mediocre. Every single day I feel like the world is against us /g/entoomen.

It's problem solving, and you get to help people, it's made me more comfortable in professional settings too. Just learn networking and security and you'll know many things that the average software engineer doesn't, it's fun to know how to use and build computers
