are we legitimately back to the point where comp sci is once again a meme degree you don't actually need?
>>
i dont know
i'm doing math
t. 20 yo
>>

Every degree now is a meme, cause most colleges are just scams and most students are lazy fucks.
>>
>>106966836
if you aren't h1-b and Indian you aren't getting any jobs ever again
>>
>>106966999
okay so what's the play? legitimately

Get confy doing blue collar work until you get to train your agi replacement in the distant (but not too distant) future.
>>
>>106966999
checked and truthpilled
should have gone into the trades after HS

I wanna say no. We still have to teach people how AI works and how to create models and fine tune them for specific needs. For example, samsung might want a comp sci degree guy to come and make them an AI specifically for detecting foods in the fridge and optimizing the best temperature to keep all the said foods at their best states. Or an AI for beds to detect sleeping patterns and give you feedback while sending telemetry to Amazon.
>>
Idk I got an IT job through nepotism, ai just have a HS diploma (I wanted to put a smiley, but I realize I'm incredibly fortunate and am very thankful so I didn't want to seem like a dick ro those who aren't that fortunate, but I won't deny that I am happy about it :))
>>
>>106967017
The future is AI managing a workforce of jeet workers.
>>
I studied it for 5 years, writing programs and interacting with databases in java, glad I didn't pay for any of it and I wouldn't want to do it for a living, I'm happy to make minecraft mods and small projects in other languages

Corpo jeets think they'll become millionaire code monkeys or something
>>
>>106967254
Lol imported indians are just a training ground to make their civilization more manageable for the west since theyre so fucked in the head
It is the west's last frontier kek
>>
Even if u get one, are those "IT jobs" even worth their money? Obviously that's a broad category and there are all types of projects you could work on, but tech guys never actually seem happy or say how exciting and genuinely interesting their job is, it's always about the money or the big name they're working for.
It seems like you work on some shit you give zero fucks about but accept it because the pay is good. I've never had one of those jobs so I'm wondering if it's even the right thing for me. I don't want to be a miserable code monkey dude

What trades or blue collar work could a chubby, 5'4" manlet, who's now pushing 40, and that is extremely fucking out of shape along with being mentally insane could get into?

I've only ever been good behind a computer and building my own PC's over the years. I also absolutely refuse to touch Windows or Mac with a 30 foot dildo.

I'm so physically weak and uncoordinated. I can't drive a vehicle as I panic and scream scared. My mom has to come pick me up to drive me anywhere I need to go and she's about to die of old age. I'm stuck in a small town that's now being overrun by jeets and nogs with hardly any work left other than blue collar work which most are driving jobs. But truthfully I'm ignorant on anything that could be here that may not be listed online. I don't have any friends or connections with other people here. I'm scared to death to even walk outside. I make a literal battleplan to take my trash to the dumpster out of constant fear of being attacked by my nog neighbors. I attempted a job with a stand on forklift in a warehouse a city over from me when I was in my early 20s and I almost crushed myself up against a wall. I can't learn how to tie my own shoes. I barely can cook the most simple meals. I most eat goyslop. My work in tech is mediocre but was the only thing keeping me even slightly afloat until I lost my job last year which I just had a basic job in IT and doing some freelance work which all dried up since the 2020s as I never could get a job as my programming skills are pretty low-end and mediocre. Every single day I feel like the world is against us /g/entoomen.

I do IT (not compsci) I'm an onprem/remote helpdesk monkey. I make 50k a year, but I do enjoy what I do. It's problem solving, and you get to help people, it's made me more comfortable in professional settings too. Just learn networking and security and you'll know many things that the average software engineer doesn't, it's fun to know how to use and build computers

Honestly though I'd look into CNC programming. Learn G-code (it's so stupidly brain dead easy to read) and you can learn programs like esprit and Autocad,

After that you get to sit in a nice cozy office space making code for the people actually breaking their backs trying not to get killed by your horrible programming errors that will crash your multi-thousand dollar machine

Hope this helps <3

Focus on treating your mother right as a thank you for supporting you when the rest of your life is so difficult
>>
>>106967375
I WFH most days of the month, the job is not exciting or anything in the least (coding software that manages boomer retirement funds), but it sure beats out fucking up your back in a blue collar position and I decided to go the boring route over the suffering route.
>>
>>106967023
learn to aim firearms
>>
>>106967200
I could haul boxes or drive forklifts for the rest of my life if left alone. but most blue collar workers are the biggest retards I've ever had the misfortune of working with.
>>
>>106967743
if you're surrounded by idiots then you're probably in a job meant for idiots
>>
>>106967412
Gonna be real honest here, you are not doing too good. There's super low chance that you'll change your behavior specially at your late 30s. You should just treat your mother right till she dies. Then try not to think about things too much, just do small things that would make you happy. You don't need to be this 6ft guy who earns 7 figures a year, isn't happiness one of the most basic things a person chases? You don't need money for that.

Also take psychedelics, might help you out ^_^
>>
>>106967750
yeah, probably. it was a warehouse job so not a skilled trade. but from what I read (here or elsewhere) even those have plenty of idiots too.
>>
>>106967774
>Also take psychedelics, might help you out ^_^
or it might fry his brain
you fucking redditard
>>
>>106967743
Shipping and packaging is bottom of the barrel for blue collar work.

You need a blue collar job that actually forces you to think with your meat, things like reading engineering prints or using measurment tools are jobs where you actually have a decent chance of meeting someone who can teach you something new.
>>
>>106967789
I'm not a redditard, just a guy speaking from experience anon. I just took it once and never had to do it again because it changed my life, really. He's his own man to decide whether to do it, i'm simply suggesting

I’m getting my comp sci degree to make killer robots, I doubt ChatGPT is gonna cripple my goals of skynet government and toaster supremacy.
