I can't imagine ever having moved on from XP. I literally don't need more.

Brother in arms, updoot cpu-z, last version to actually work on XP.

>>
>>106967955
Not OP, but there's nothing that I need/want to do that POSReady 2009 won't facilitate. Simple as. Some programs are new, some are old , but everything's up to date and works perfectly fine. The fact that you can tweak the os to open literally zero ports and run a quality third party firewall on top of it attests to i's superiority.
>>
>>106968014
What do you do on Windows XP that you can't do on Linux today?
>>
>>106968033
Run tons of quality software on literal scrap hardware no one would bother picking up from the trash today, and that at lighting speed. All in all you're looking at roughly 35 years of native software compatibility, possibly even more with the hackish kernel updoots and other life extension measures.

>XP

I totally get you but I just use linux.
It can do eveything an XP machine could, plus more.
There're zero objective reasons to stay with XP.

XP is faster and more responsive, opening programs instantaneously, even when compared to a distro like Q4OS Trinity.
>>
>>106967271
nice

>>106967271
Pretty neat, your Windows XP machine is as robust as my Windows 8.1 machine, maybe even a little better.
>>
>>106968278
bullshit winbloat doesn't open shit faster than linux with xfce
>>
>>106968394
That's because you're retarded and never used XP, zero bloat being much of the reason people still love it. Shit literally flies on any mid end Pentium 4 with less than 200mb ram. Try that on your troonix shitbox.
>>
>>106968718
puppy linux can run entirely in ram, faggot. try that on your microsaar garbage.

Is that really the right font? It's so bad it looks like a half-assed Mate theme.
>>
>>106969047
You could probably hack XP to run from a ramdisk too although idk why you would invest time into an OS with such a small community and no legally available source code. If you're going to do that at least spend it on something cool like Inferno.
>>
>>106970539
Current proliferation isn't necessarily a predictor of longevity.

LONG LIVE XP
HE COULD GO ANOTHER 10 ROUNDS
>>
>>106970564
Looks modified via classic mode settings.
>>
>>106970568
>you could probably maybe hack it to do this and still not be able to run as much modern software as linux and it would also bsod because it wasn't made to run from ram

I'm a win7 user actually. I find that higher refresh rates are better on my aging eyes. Just asking bro
>>

You'll be eating dust when the last thing you see on your death bed will be a medical device running xp
>>
>>106970951
Probably not or not for the most part although 980ti in SLI might be potent enough to get there.
>>
>>106970289
why not? i did 120Hz on windows 98se. high refresh rates used to be common until lcd's dragged that down for a decade

I hope you have security patches.

I don't think 7 has this issue as much, but it might not have been updated for a while now. It does have firewalls and hypervisors in it.

Just poked around the old search engine it looks like XP cards are limited to DP v1.2 or HDMI v2.0, which caps out at 144hz at 1080p. This is still pretty good though, and might give XP an install for a bit. Win7 is serving me very well though. It's just really cool to see XP still going strong
>>
>>106971087
Oh and this is why constant telemetry with 10 and 11 is a security risk. Well done, MS.

You use MICROSOFT WINDOWS AIDS EDITION. It has AIDS meaning if it catches an INFECTION it DIES like a FAGGOT or an AFRICAN NIGGER with AIDS
>>
Remember. If you use MICROSOFT WINDOWS AIDS EDITION, your computer will get AIDS
>>
>>106967271
A better OS than modern linux too, and here you get professional software.
>>
Windows XP = Windows AIDS
Windows 7 = Windows HIV

>>
>>106971158
2bh, windows 10/11 with firewalls turned off and direct connections to the internet is not much better. It's still very insecure like XP.
But normally 7/10/11 have security features turned on automatically.

I know this with 7 because I used to turn off the firewall completely for non specific reasons and ... yeah don't do that.
>>
Apparently the start menu in 11 is a buggy security threat vector though, so maybe it is no better than XP.
>>
>>106971152
I agree, old linux was much better than modern linux and XP.

From the official website: >Relatively small size typically 1.5 G or less

What a joke (I said less than 200mb's), and I also get to install literally nothing from the POSReady 2009 CD itself (call it a blank canvas os), which allows me to install, tweak and run exactly the software I want and not be bound by some general purpose, pedo-curated slop.
