questionable defaults, zypper is slow, default repos are barren, the only way to get shit like codecs is through a third party repo and OBS is fucking shit

it will never be as good as nixos.

I don't use it so it's for people not like me and that makes it bad.

>Modifies packages from upstream too much resulting in issues unique to this distro
>Shit documentation
>Slow piece of shit package manager

Found three flaws
>>
>>106967312
.rpm builds for 3rd party software sometimes assume Fedora instead, and can be broken on opensuse because of dependency packages having different names in the respective repos
Not an issue in opensuse itself per se, but still annoying at times
Also the fact that it's less popular means less documentation/help if you have a problem and less 3rd party software support
Otherwise I liked Tumbleweed a lot when I used it for years until recently and will have to reinstall it soon on my laptop.
>>106967381
I never found zypper to be slow. I vastly prefer its CLI ergonomics to apt

>unable to maintain open nvidia open drivers without it destroying the system every few updates

>not because it's obsolete they just decided to not maintain it while alienating it's user base over le rotten flesh faggotry
>couldn't even fill thier board after doing that
>corporate end wants to split ties with them
Should I continue?
This distro is a shell of what it used to be mostly because of extra woke faggots
>>
>>106967312
If it's cutting edge like arch (which arch isn't) then it can't be stable. Stable means the system libraries and components don't change or change very minimally unless there is a major system update maybe once every 2 years.

I'm currently distro hopping and trying several different flavors of Linux.
In your opinion, which is better: Fedora or openSUSE?

Arch and Mint won. Your contrarianfag hipster distro lost

The gay stuff is an amazing psyop. It destroys every community and organization and silences any meaningful opposition.

Arch uses stable packages. It isn't bleeding edge. Cachyos is if you need that.

Good. Sudo zypper dup is all I need.

if you install tumbleweed with a desktop environment it takes like 30min to install. and I'm not talking about the entire installation process, but only the actually installing packages bit, because zypper is so slow and awful. it downloads, checks and install each package individually, one at a time.
it takes 5min in any other distro

Missing codecs, just like fedora, but I guess thats normal for hardcore foss pilled company distros. Also package availability sucks for my personal usecase.

Do people really find it that hard to copy paste a single line into a terminal?
>>
>>106972284
Still better than
sudo nix-channel --list
sudo nix-channel --remove nixos
sudo nix-channel --add *insert new repo site here* nixos
==DECLARATIVE==
sudo nixos-rebuild switch
==AD-HOC==
nix-env -u '*'
==HOME MANAGER==
home-manager switch

And it works on older versions. On newer
nh os switch --update ~/config

just in flakes' case and not intended to be used with sudo... What a goddamn puzzle!
>>
>>106972933
>what is a flake
>>
>>106972985
Another set of sudo commands:
==FLAKE.LOCK UPDATE==
nix flake update
==HOME MANAGER==
nix flake update home-manager
==APPLY UPDATES==
sudo nixos-rebuild switch --flake
==UPDATE LOCK AND APPLY==
sudo nixos-rebuild switch --recreate-lock-file --flake

And it's not guaranteed to work because it's an *experimental* feature.
