Has he saved the world yet?
>>106971822be patient, anon. two more decade and his work will save our civilization.
>>106971822He saved me from having to use C++ at least.
i just wanna play his sokoban game
I'm slowly turning into him.
>>106973385What do you use now?
>>106971822he's getting there
>>106974769Jai. A bit rough around the edges still but it's already my favourite language.

>>106975437NTA but are you being serious? i know he does beta tests of his languages, and im not smart enough to use his stuff and get into game dev. but i like his talks hes a really smart guy, so i'd believe you when you say this.
>>106975437>::Into the trash, design a good programming language is complex task and he's not ready for it. INB4 it's just another OOP C clone.
He's too busy driving his employees to suicide
>>106977717>he doesn't compress his jaypegs twice to double the smallerer
A Jai release? No no no no. Why would you go after a public release? If you show people the language, they'll ask "how webscale?" -- and it will never be enough. The lang that was the C++ killer becomes another V.But if your lang never releases, you can say it's invite-only -- and it's a potential pure play.
>>106975437Oh, of course it is. Nothing like a half-baked dialect to make you feel like you’ve discovered fire again, right? I mean, sure, syntax rougher than sandpaper and semantics hanging on by a thread, but hey, if it strokes your linguistic ego, who am I to stand in the way of “genius”?
I feel like if someone who was even moderately capable had put in as much effort and time into something as much as he has they would have done something meaningful now. What has he done? Made a mediocre video game and write a language that doesn’t meaningfully change the landscape?
>>106977991Erm, he made 2 games
