Why do linux coders hate UX?
>>
>>106972672
Linux is a kernel, thats ubuntu
>>
>>106972672
Because the command like is actually the superior UX experience
>>
Linux people for a long time lack any design skill and pushed most people away who had talent for design.

>yes goy, drag that icon into the folder. no serotonin release for you
is this a humiliation thread?

We are executing the actions you asked for.
You can see exactly what we are doing, and the overall progress of the task.

huuurrr.... drag this so we give you the illusion of agency.... we will do some shenanigans in the background and you will never know what tf happened

gee I don't know anon

Right it literally just moving the .app file into the applications folder.
All Mac programs are basically the equivalent of Linux appimages.

i am still amazed that mac users defend this installation system
>so to install this software just download a disk image with its own filesystem and mount it, then it will open but the root folder in this mounted filesystem will have some extra metadata just like windows used to have ages ago that allows repositioning the icons and putting a wallpaper, similar to a desktop. think like how windows xp allowed it. anyway then it shows a wallpaper and no room for i18nable text because its just a wallpaper and you have to just say Please put the .app in your Applications folder (it could be anywhere else but people wouldnt understand). Also .apps are just syntactic sugar over a folder that contains both the application data and the application. Also applications cannot do any post/preinstall steps this way so it has to be in the program itself. Also also due to the way this works any application that wants to bundle both x86 and ARM has to remain double filesize on the user's system forever. Anyway after you've done that better remember to safely unmount and eject your disk drive with the installer on it.
hacks upon hacks upon hacks this is terrible man

You can use a UX package manager on Linux doe.
>coders
Coders on any OS would prefer to use a terminal. That's not OS specific.

apple is a joke, i found out today that the app store has no torrent app whatsoever, what an expensive junk
>>
>>106973197
>literally just moving the .app file into the applications folder
I highly doubt the application is read directly from the compressed .app file.
See? If you had a log to look at, you would know this.
>>
>>106973197
its a normal application install disguised as a single executable btw idk if youre just troling or what but its not what you think it is
>>

linux is a joke, i found out today that the repos have no affinity app whatsoever.

i just install everything with brew on mac desu

What's wrong with just pushing a button? Why does Faggle want us to go through this humiliation ritual?
>>
>>106972672
Function over form, breh. You want some fruity pretty crap, buy a Mac.
>>
>>106973332
.app files aren't compressed.
At least, they weren't back when I still used OSX.
They're basically just a special type of folder.
You could literally remove the .app file extension and open it like any other folder.

>>106973359
Are you?
I don't use modern Macs, but when I used it the app was just a portable executable, and the 'installer' was usually just a disk image containing the app and a sym link to the applications folder.
>>
>>106972672
because nothing is persistent and may need tweaking at any time, console commands are faster way to do things, which in its own contributes to that nothing becomes persistent and things may need tweaking.

Designers ruin everything.

I bought a new laptop recently with debian preinstalled by the manufacturer. My first linux experience.

When I first noticed how basic some of the programs looked which looked a lot more polished, i felt i made a mistake

After about 2 months of using i fired up my windows pc again and i was like whoah this this looks like some ficher price todler shit

So i feel that you get used to what u use
>>
>>106972672
I'm using Tumbleweed with GNOME and I'm rarely touching the terminal, I'm worried my terminal skills might get rusty...
>>
>>106972672
You're right anon Linux should get rid of mouse and keyboards and exclusively be controlled by vocal commands into your pacifier and the only feedback is "there there just a smidgy widgy like a good boy till good things happen... Oopsie! That's a stinky dinky wrong think program! Let's keep you safe watching AI slop on YouTube with the latest and most secure in AI innovation technology." Meanwhile there's no indication that the operating system has installed ransomware on your PC.
>>
>>106973362
Affinity has no Linux version. If they made one, I think a lot of Adobe users would jump ship.
