Because of write amplification. In real life this is what's going to happen:
A) 90% of the ~240GB usable capacity is probably going to be used because I assume you're going to install things and download music/movies/TV shows like most people.
B) The ~20GB or so of space left is going be RAPED by pagefile/swap.
C) A few years later the piece of shit becomes corrupted, doesn't boot, and you're left with a paper weight because you CAN'T FUCKING REPLACE THE COCKSUCKING DEAD SSD.

Whereas 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD ensures minimal wear because it's not expected that you will have more than a few hundred GB worth of stuff to store on it so write amplification won't be anywhere near as much of a problem. It's still extremely retarded that you won't be able to replace the SSD when it does die but now it will die in like 5-10 years instead of just 2-3 years.

Experience is same as a mainline linux distro like Fedora or Ubuntu. Minus Proton support. Or any 32bit software. Backwards compatibility for x86 is ending soon too, minus the handful of mac compatible games. But pretty much everything has been ported to ARM now.

but you can't install asahi linux on it, that's only for the m1/m2 macs (not many reasons to use asahi, other than avoiding apple software, or lets say some software wont work on apple or crossover, but somehow it does on linux).
technically you could try out mac OS in a VM using OSX-KVM on linux, and I think it works in regular windows VM's like VirtualBox or VMware, it's going to be the intel version and I think it will last maybe 3 years before the app store shuts down or popular software stops working.

The m4 base model cpu is not very strong, it's just OK.
A normal sweaty budget Gamer PC would cost like $800 minimum.
Remove $300 by skipping the GPU and it matches it (I admit, it's hard to get it to $500 while also getting 32gb of ram and 2tb of SSD, but it is possible with aliexpress).
The m4 igpu is stronger than most ryzen IGPU's (but not the 8600g), but throw in any GPU, and it will destroy the base m4.

Don't think they released a gpu driver for it yet so you can' use an OS comfortably. Better get something that works.
