>laptop ran at 40 degrees c on windows 10
>averages 76-80 on windows 11

just jeet my shit up
>>
stop using mas
>>
Well, you shouldn't have upgraded to Windows 11. For what?
Your web browser works on W10
your cartoon watching software works on W10
there was no reason for you to upgrade but you did
dumb move
in what universe would you expect your computer to not slow down/fuck up putting a newer, more bloated version of Windows on it?
is this your first time?
>>
>>106991980
>things that never happened
>>
>>106992035
not him but I had a W11 laptop that ran insanely hot. It was a refurb that was a w10 machine originally
I believe the OP, CPU was ramping up for no reason all the time on that shit
>>
>>106991980
brought to you by 70% jeet coders and 30% aI coders, all on top of 40 years of cumulative bloatware and half integrated legacy-ware we cant remove
>>
>>106992049
>my cum stained shitpad ran cool 10 years ago but now it's full of pubic hair and dust and cockroaches blocking the vents and runs hot
>must be windows 11!
>>
>>106992035
Nah, Win11 hate is cringe and overplayed by oldfags and plebbitors, but it's factual it runs hotter than Win10 and causes throttling more.
But pretty much this >>106992013
I don't get why anyone would update to Win11. It's not as terrible as people make it out to be, but it's literally a less usable and more intrusive Win10.
Just get Win10 IoT LTSC 2021. Practically no bloatware, no major MS services, good driver support, has updates for another 7 years I think. Either that or a Linux distro or smth, but there's no reason to be on Win11 right now.
>>
>>106992049
Yeah this is a 4 year old thinkpad that originally came with windows 10 pro. I neer turned off automatic updates and it auto updated to windows 11.
I have since done a clean install of W10 IoT LTSC and it is running cool again.
>>
>>106992076
I repasted the laptop. Still runs hot (it's literally this laptop: https://youtu.be/tKKxPtP6XjQ) but it runs cooler in linux than W11 straight up and only gets hot when it actually does shit. in W11 moving the mouse made the fans kick on
>>
>>106992128
lmao didn't mean to post Eli Porter enjoy
>>
>>106991980
Micropoop Poopblows 11
>>
>>106991980

surely you can spend an day on settings and make it run at 38 celcius
>>
>>106991980
My laptop seems to run exactly the same. I don't monitor temps but I don't feel it warming up or hear the fans blowing. If it's a fresh install it could be installing stuff in the background which might be driving the temps up. Try putting it in energy saving mode. For me that makes it cool off quickly after it heats up from a cpu intensive task.
>>
>>106992085
>Win11 hate is cringe
>His laptop runs super hot from it
Anon if that's not reason enough for you to hate it I don't know what is. The fucking operating system shouldn't be that demanding on a piece of hardware.
>>
All the refurbishers throw W11 on the laptops they sell, the first thing i do is wipe them and install xubuntu and W10
>>
>>106992183
i did enjoy League of Legends for the week or so of Windows 11 on mine. Got chat banned on all my accounts, back to linux. You can't even call people pussies anymore, so gay
>>
post specs
>>
>>106992180
It's cringe because a lot of people are hating on it, simply because it's the "cool" thing to do. A couple of months ago nobody was crying about 11 like they are now, it's literal bot mentality.
>>
>>106991980
Yes masked Microsoft goons sneaked into your house and stole your thermal pasted
>>
>>106992244
100 percent of everybody shit on W11 the moment it dropped because it sucks.
DOn't get me wrong, if I were building a new gaming computer right now i would get W11, but let's not pretend that it doesn't suck
>>
>>106992244
A year or two ago 11 was hot garbage and I was bitching about it endlessly. It's become more tolerable, but is still no less bloated to all hell.
Go with your own experiences instead of some silly public perception garbage.
>>
>>106992254
It's not much different than Windows 10.
>>
>>106992254
Only reason to use W11 for gaming these days is either you distrust valve for some reason or play shitty competetive games.
>>
>>106992264
let's walk through this. what does it do that Windows 10 doesn't do?

Circling back to the OP, my personal experience with Windows 11 is that it sucks. Chances are OP was in a different power mode though.
You wouldn't notice on your T440, but if you have a real laptop with a real processor they get fucking hot, and the power mode that you are in will make a big difference.
Windows, unlike linux, has power management features built in that can drastically effect the thermals of your machine
My guess is that in Windows 10 he was on some kind of 'balanced' or 'eco' mode and never even realized it (because T440 memepad are barely more than a pocket calculator)
windows 11 update probably put her in a 'balanced' mode that allowed the processor to actually cook.
she noticed the laptop got hot, and being a windows user (low IQ, poor) she freaked out
>>
>>106992281
was it an upgrade or a fresh install? do you have the newest chipset and gpu drivers?
I had a similar problem after updating PC with AMD CPU, but updating the drivers to latest ones meant for win11 helped.
Also check the power settings, I think the high performance preset has min processor state way up by default which makes it waste electricity when idling.
>>
>>106992346
T440 is too old for Windows 11. Oldest thinkpad model that supports Windows 11 I think is T480. Also I don't see what the CPU has to do with this. It's simply a matter of how much load the CPU is under and how much power it draws, and obviously weaker CPUs will draw the same power doing a less intensive task. But at the end of the day whether it's a 4th gen intel or 12th gen intel drawing 20W, they're both gonna get hot, they'll likely just be doing different tasks to draw that much power.
>>
>>106992264
That's really the issue. I can't think of a single thing it does better than Windows 10 that matters to the average person, and can think of plenty of things it does worse, especially anything regarding it's bloat. And yet Microsoft is forcing it on people.
LIke it's no wonder people are going to be pissed about it.
>>
>>106992376
What does it do worse? In terms of work flow and performance it seems exactly the same to me. The noticeable differences to me are minor cosmetic ones like the start menu and context menu.
>>
>>106992388
Well older computers are now worthless to a lot of businesses and low end consumers due to the high jump in requirements to run it for starters.
Plus every update seems to break something for someone (was even worse in it's earlier days), and even if your hardware can handle it your memory and CPU are still being worked like a horse by antimalware service executable even worse than it was in 10.
I'll admit performance on it is good with the right hardware, but that's the crux of the issue for most.
>>
>>106992365
you can run Windows 11 on cpus with no SSE 4. A t440 will have absutely no issue with windows 11 considering it has every instruction set up to avx2. It's a completely modern cpu.
>>
>>106992429
It runs fine on supported hardware. "CPU worked like a horse".. not really? as I said I noticed no difference. Idk if it uses more RAM at idle than Windows 10, I never really paid attention. I think Windows 10 also used several gb.

>>106992438
Only 8th gen intel and above is officially supported.
>>
>windows 11 desktop
>CPU rarely if ever even goes to full load just 50%
>still heats up to 70c
that doesn't sound normal, even the idling is almost 50c usually
>>
>>106992451
Your missing my entire point. The point is that it provided nothing of substance to the average person, and instead inconvenienced them.
The average person doesn't run a gaming rig anon. They run a 5+ year old notebook that was barely getting by with the bloat 10 had accumulated, and now suffer even more from 11.
>I didn't look
>I didn't notice
Then why are you even responding to me if you have nothing meaningful to say?
>>
>>106992451
Coffee Lake has exactly the same instruction sets as Haswell, 0 difference between the two. So Haswell is just as officially supported.
Although I do know from experience that AVX2 or even AVX is not a hard requirement.
>>
>>106992483
I asked you what it did worse, you said it doesn't run on older hardware. That's not really an answer to the question. And Windows 11 should run fine even on 7 year old laptops, not noticeably different than on Windows 10. Yes I think it sucks that they dropped support for a bunch of hardware that could likely run it, but the OS in itself runs fine.

>>106992504
>Answers question
>Ignores my main point

Lordy you are thick.

>>106992504
Is running worse on old hardware not something it does worse anon? Feels like a legit answer.

all that new NSA spyware stealing all that cpu lol
>>
>>106992533
I'm seeing some people say it runs fine on older hardware too. The problem is the lack of official support. I'm not sure you can even use the Rufus hack to install it on older hardware anymore.
>>
>>106992552
Just watched a guy boot it on a Pentium 4.
>>
>>106992552
i'm sure it runs fine on old hardware. 4chan is full of retarded kids, including this board, who think they are 'computer guys' because they watch anime on crunchyroll
Windows 11 runs on the 13 year old 3rd gen corei5 with 8gb ram at my work just as fast as 10
>>
i like MS paint and the OSD for volume better on windows 11 but it's not worth the bloat, spyware and performance issues. can only imagine how bad it is now that they have forced their AI shit in the new update. i'll stick with 10. I wish i could still be on 7. even 8.1 was better than 11.

>>106992346

Fucking COOKED

That TPM 2.0 and AI module don't come for free. You gotta pay for em in processing power.

that can't be right I'm running Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC and I'm running at 45 C maximum right now maybe you should stop running consumer Windows and either move to Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC or try getting your head wrapped around Linux

this says your CPU core is at 66c

That is the max column, not current

yeah that's under max load not under current
>>106993392
yeah exactly that's when it's under max load pretty sure it's currently on idle only running Firefox
>>
>>106993401
It's not considered idle if your cpu usage is over 0.2%
>>
>>106993416
hmm I see I mean I'm running piss right now just Firefox and Discord (program) don't ask me why I'm using Discord but my computer is running as normal so I really can't complain if you get what I mean

PAjeet. Correct phrase is PAjeet as it includes othe type of shit type humans (pakishitstranis)
They are bot subhuman

I can, with some annoyances and debloating, run Win11 on my 14 year old 2GB RAM laptop. I used Rufus with a Win11 23H2 No TPM2.0 Requirement iso and that works, alternatively getting your Win11 25H2 ISO from Microsoft themselves, mounting and just using the setup.exe from cmd "setup.exe /profile server"
Some followup commands to remove OOBE from reged, making an admin local and just restarting.
That being said the laptop works better with Win10, or its original Win7, or Linux. Personally Mint since it's nice on the eyes and I don't need to change much.

I installed W11 on my laptop months ago to test it, and it kept system running all the fucking time taxing 10% of the cpu all the time. Nothing I did could stop it. W10 never did that. W11 is not a piece of shit is a complete shit. Fuck the jeetcode AI they are using.

you either fucked up or you are lying
>>
>bought ASUS ROG Ally Z1X
>shipped with W11
>doesn't do this
>saw it get down to 13*C on a cool night
>regularly stays between 38 and 50 on battery
>only gets to 80 when gaming and plugged in
>before I debloated it

Skill issue.
