I've done my researches and the only relevant result I've found is 'Vivaldi'.What I am looking for is a lightweight browser optionally but a criteria that I consider a must, a no AI browser which means no AI when it comes to search, no bullshit AI sidebar etc... You get it.Is there any relevant alternatives that are currently supported?
>>106998647you can disable AI in settings usually, in most browsers
>>106998771I'm talking about no AI at all, I know I'm difficult on that one
>>106998647It's the best out of the chromium forks, but it's still a chromium fork.
>>106998771why have to remove something when i can get something that just werxMy brain is all the AI i need when browsing 4shits
chrome has no AI features as far as i can tell
>>106998647I have a gripe with Vivaldi that I like its concept but hate its UI and bloat. But i they removed it then it would just be chromium.
You can't escape chromium because of skia graphite
All you need is Firefox, turning off the AI shit (or never enabling it in the first place. It never will be there if you don't pick a model or whatnot). Something like vivaldi is just another chromium fork and worse, its non-chromium parts (like the UI) are proprietary - they could be cramming everything you do into an AI model to be sold and you'd never know it. Just pick a normal FOSS browser, its not like any of them are somehow mandatory to support AI. Firefox (or one of its forks) or Chromium forks if you must.
>>106998897Everything you type into firefox is owned by the Mozilla foundation now.
>>106998917What do you mean? If you turn off search suggestions or whatever the heck, nothing is sent to them in the first place. The whole thing is FOSS, you can sit there and monitor what's being sent or not. Even if you leave stuff like telemetry on, you can see that its not sending everything you type etc
>>106999023Their updated terms of use gave them the right to collect it. And even if they are not doing it to you now, they will in the future.
just use floorpsimple as
>>106998897Firefox runs like molasses on mobile.
LibreWolf is basically Firefox but with all the bs cut out--including AI
>>106998647Vanilla Chromium if you're on Linux is pretty nice. Vivaldi is currently the only Chromium fork that's still allowing for manifest 2 extensions though (that will change after Vivladi starts basing their fork on Chromium 140 though).Ungogoled Chromium if you want to go full schizo, or use Floorp.
>>106999035I think we should look at what they're actually doing. If they ever do something shady we'll see it, but otherwise them having the right to collect stuff when there are several options that involve sending info to / getting from Mozilla, it seems like the typical collection EULA bullshit. Chrome/ium does something similar and knowing Google's data mining, far worse.>>106999065Does it? I've run it on a OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren 5G and it didn't give me any trouble despite it being an older phone.. I had it run uBlock Origin but not many other addons.
>>106998647>What I am looking for is a lightweight browsernot vivaldi then
>>106998647just use vanilla chromium. No need to fondle differents forks of the same shit.
>>106998647For me it's Brave. You have to actively turn on the "AI" or otherwise it doesn't appear ever anywhere. But also I've found the Brave search AI to be one of the best, it just summarizes the most important results of a search and gives it to you for a quick glance. You can also turn it off tho.
>>106998647I browser hop a lot and go back to Vivaldi a lot, why do you not want to use it?
>>106998917that was just an histerical FUD. Don't get me wrong, I fucking hate mozilla and what they've done to Firefox, but all the ToS debacle was veeery exaggerated.
>>106999918not him but it has chrome fullscreen behaviourdoesnt reveal adress/tab bars on hoover
honestly every browser feels sluggish after you use edge
>>106998802You're just a whiny teenager. It'll pass.
>>107000016redeem an ad pajeet
>>106999437brave on Chromium 142 still supports manifest 2
>>106998845The ui is extremely customizable? You mean the react shittiness?
The fact vivaldi is now considered lightweight is hilarious.
It's based on Gecko, no AI from what I can see, open source.
>>107001669I meant Zen Browser by this, text didn't go thru
