i mean you gotta say, when you hover over your browser windows in your taskbar, and see soundcloud tab fullscreened with the song track you are listening to. linux is pretty sick

tiling wms are whatever but you have to make them even more gay with rounded corners, glossy transparency, animations, and huge space wasting gaps between everything?
>>

These people don't actually use their computers. I'm convinced they rice them for a screen grab or faggot youtube video and then reformat.

It's my experience and never stated otherwise.
That attitude is why Linux will never reach even 5% desktop market share.

Has any tinker tranny ever commented upon the design decisions behind the noose looking logo?
Even if it didn't look like a hangman's noose it is still way too big and misshaped compared to the font and typography.

I just don't get it. Why would I restrict my screen real estate like that? Whenever I'm doing something, I use it maximized and I'm locked in on that thing. Does someone out there enjoy scrolling all the time? Moreover, resizing the window will shift the webpage's aspect ratio too, making you lose track of your line position. What's the point of those small little windows that keep popping smaller and smaller? You can barely fit a line of text inside them. If anything, HL is a hinderance, an unproductive tool that doesn't aid your workflow at all.

Linux will never reach a large user base if it doesn't just werk
it will never get the proper support or backing
it HAS TO BE noob friendly
IMHO a noobs opinion matters more than an autists opinion
>>
>>107003241
Just use Linux Mint and stop worrying
>>
>>107003224
Are you retarded? Most websites don't even make proper use of a maximized browser window. Resolutions above 1080p exist, too. If an application actually takes proper advantage of the entire screen it will get its own workspace.
>>
>>107003287
LOL, so now all those windows are hidden behind numbers and separated by different disjointed workspaces. I have to memorize where each window sits. Just imagine working with an IDE, a browser, a terminal, a document, Figma, Slack, Spotify, the files manager, and other apps open all at the same time. You have no visual representation of their place. And if I want to open yet another program, I have to press a macro, type the first few letters, then hit enter—because, apparently, this is the more 'efficient' way of doing it, compared to simply clicking it in one short stroke right there on the taskbar, LOL!

>>
>>107002051
>>107003241
Why would I care about that? how does it benefit me if more windows users use linux? The only thing windows users want is to turn linux into windows.
>>
Not being able to scale windows vertically is pissing me off. Yes i tried a transparent tkinter window.
>>
>>107004868
Do you mean scaling windows vertically while they are tiled?
>>
>>107000169
Should be castrated for promoting Wayland.
>>
>>107004889
Id like to leave some empty space so i can see the background. Also i have to add a plugin for the window bar.
>>
>>107004958
Open a fully transparent terminal, that will take up space while not being visible :^)
>>

I don't need a tiling window manager though
>>
>>107003396
And then your windows float at random places or you have to tab through 30 of them.
>>
>>107003224
You can also have a stacked or tabbed workspace. You might tile 4 windows on one workspace, have a single one on another, 4 tabbed on another.
>>
>>107001675
Now try gaming
>>
>>107005929
i actually really like tabs in window management. i wish kwin had support for them.
>>
>>107004958
gaps between windows are standard on hyprland. You can probably configure how large they are. If you want a small window and see lots of your desktop, just float it.
>>

fluxbox has tabs.
ctrl+drag a window titlebar into another window to put both inside the same window with a tab bar.

fluxbox is from 2001 btw.
>>
>>107006918
that's what i was thinking of. your programs wouldn't even need to implement tabs if this was common.
>>
>>107001675
It isn't working, you're just not noticing that it's broken.

there's nothing stopping you from having a taskbar with icons indicating the programs open on each workspace, or having pinned buttons that open programs when you click on them. using a tiling wm doesn't prevent you from doing those things.
