>>107001663It's unfortunately true, I really wish the selection of 990FX motherboards had been better from the beginning, Giga 990FX-UD3 didn't become a beast until revision 4 in 2013, and also AMD not allow 125w chips on 970 motherboards, I have a friend who gave me his FX-8350 rig and went to RYZEN because his computer was randomly freezing, and then I get ahold of it and it's got a 4 phase motherboard trying to run this 125W chip which isn't gonna happen stable, ran it in 6 core mode and it was perfectly fine, but if AMD had locked people with shit motherboards to FX-6300, I think FX would've had a stellar reputation for budget builds, because they were sick when it wasn't throttling.
