Go and convince people like this to use Linux.
>>107000779Windows 10 is still just as shit as it was in 2015. Anyone who is picrel is mindless goycattle and will never change.
>>107000779i'm not tocuhing linux lol
>>107000806Behold. The CEO of Microsoft
>>107000806>Posting a thumbnail like a retarded niggerProjecting jeet detected
>>107000779People like this are just fucking retarded. They had their chance to make the switch and get used to Linux last time around when this same exact thing happened. They've instead established that they will reluctantly, albeit inevitably go along with whatever slop Microsoft shovels down their throats. So yeah, expect to see more threads in 2030 about people whining about how they're being forced to switch from Windows 11 to Windows 12 or whatever. These cattle will never learn
>>1070007797 was a downgrade compared to XP
>>107000842>7 was a downgrade compared to XP
What you left out is how Windows 11 is even shittier than shitty Windows 10.
>>107000806pictures for ants
>>107000857Yeah and windows 10 was shittier than windows 7almost like there's a pattern here
>>107000806You posted an unreadable thumbnail of a thread that was literally just made up nonsense. The tech illiteracy rate of /g/ is seriously concerning.
>>107000884what caused this?
>>107000897200720162020
>>107000806I don't understand, do you have jeets in your head so b rent free that you won't use anything they use?
>hmm the internet sure thinks the new windows is horrible, maybe today I will switch to linux>oh, there are 1000 distrosThis is where every single neurotypical person decides windows 11 is probably not that bad
>>107000806>232x250Retard
>>107000836Would only be retarded if Windows didn't have a shitton of software designed for it specifically. There is a tradeoff when switching to Linux.
>>107000903What was 2007, Habbo Hotel?
>>107001452
>>107001546Oh
>>107000779>windows popup telling me I can get extended security updates>just need to sign in with a microsoft accountI'm honestly surprised how blatant they're being.
>>107000848Hes right kinda right. Search was destroyed, menus more gay and convoluted (takes like 4 clicks to get to net connections), start search bar sucks vs being able to use pseudo hotkeys with start pin, explorer new url system is retardedGood stuff was stability, task manager, pretty ui and random other shit
>>107000779No one will ever be able to "convince" people to use Linux. What needs to happen is for corpos like Canonical, Red Hat, System 76, etc. to make deals with OEMs and sell PCs with Linux preinstalled. Yes, I'm aware they already sell laptops preloaded with their distros but they're for enthusiast. I'm talking of a massive scale deal with tons of options for cheap for normal people and with stupidly high quatities of QA to ensure they work.Once the users are in the wild, devs will start putting more effort into the OS.Linux has to saturate the fucking market and there need to be a culture around it, make normies realize it exists and what it does. Hell, most people use Linux without realizing it with Android, ChromeOS and other IoT stuff. But alas, I'm just coping and dreaming.
fun fact: if you get a job at Taco Bell, in two months you can buy1. a windows gaming PC2. a macbook3. a used thinkpad with linux
>>107001708Yeah, would only work in a country where education isn't purposefully underfunded and useless. 90% of Americans are too retarded to interact with a terminal. Maybe more.
Fuck your packages. Fuck your everything constantly breaking shit. Fuck your trannies.Linux is pure and uncurable cancer which should just die already. If I wanted an OS I couldn't do anything with I'd just become a BSD fag since the cuck license keeps most of the trannies away at least.
>>107001736Tim Apple wasnt joking when he said Linux is too expensive
>>107000779fuck off we're fullall the windows retards should just stay in their containment zone forever
>>107000779I hated windows 10 so much I actually thought windows 11 was an upgrade. Shame it runs like ass and is unstable as hell. And this is coming from someone who actually liked windows 8. That was a failed experiment, but at least it was stable.
>>107000903>>107001546You forgot 2014. The iphone was a fatal blow but gamergate was what put the final nail in the coffin.
>>107000903i am sorry 2020 there were something?
>>107001708The biggest hurdle is not the consumer, but the office worker. Microsoft office is still top dog in that category.
>>107001972Wrong, nobody wants a shitty OS a brand new computer. Linux belongs on a 2010 laptop. It's completely insane to waste new hardware on it.
>>107001981You misunderstand my point. Microsoft office is still the most widely used (and best) office suite in the world. If some madlad managed to get microsoft office to work on linux or made a perfect alternative, companies would start considering linux for their office workers so they can lower costs on hardware and operating systems.Or, let's say that company makes it's own linux distro & low cost pc's for office workers with its own office suite, like how chromeos is for shitty high school laptops. That would lower the barrier of entry further. This might cause some pc manufacturers to also switch to a linux distro. Most of this would still be proprietary corpo products, but it could make linux from a sweaty nerd operating system to something for normal people.I'm not a linux fan by any means btw, I am just sick of microshafts stranglehold on home computers.
>>107001981maybe user encode vid with ffmpeg new pc has fancy single core performance
>>107000779Cucked forever Winiggers are.
>>107000779>Switched to linux ever since that shitshow 8 metro AIDSSo how do you explain me.
>>107000779I don't understand, I don't know if it was getting vaxxed or something, people just fucking forgot how Windows 10 worked for like 5 fucking years straight. How awful it was. They're now claiming 11 is 10 times shittier when all it is is the full pile of garbage that 10 was with some additional shitty diapers on top. It's absolutely fucking mental.
>>107000779I'm the person in the OP's image. Why would I install Linux when I can play all my Steam games and use work related software on Windows? Idk if Linux will be able to run all the programs I want. Also, I don't know what problems and unfamiliarities I'll encounter when I update Windows. I never had a problem with the Windows XP search, I liked the task manager of Windows 7. Windows 8 looked like a confusing mess to me, so I didn't get it. I reluctantly got Windows 10 because it looks similar to Windows 7 but all the new pop ups, the Microsoft Store, the weather, Edge, shitty search, it's really annoying and I miss the simplicity of older Windows systems also the default image viewer really sucks. With every update, there are more hurdles in the way of me comfortably using my outdated work software and retro games. What if Windows 11 is worse? What if Linux is even worse?? I've only just managed to deal with the Windows 10 problems, I don't want to change to a new system where it's possible that I can't get anything to work the way I like.Only the switch from flipphones to smart phones felt like a straightforward step up that I didn't mind as much (a screen keyboard is much faster than number typing), although it sucks that all the free mobile games for flip phones are gone (I miss snake and space impact) and all the free mobile apps are shitty and full of ads. Also, smart phones break so easily, my latest one became unusuable after 2 years of playing genshin, the repair shop said it'd be cheaper to buy a new one. What a waste... The smart phone feels like a mini computer, so it sucks that there's so much I can do on my computer that I can't do on my phone. I imagine switching to linux would lead to a similar experience of just not being able to do a lot of stuff that I can on my normal computer. And since I don't really need a secondary device other than my phone, I have no incentive to use Linux in any way. Maybe if I had an old Linux laptop...
windows 10 was never good, ugly as fuck and a downgrade from windows 7
>>107000779my progression iswindows 8 -> windows 10 -> windows 7 -> linux -> windows 7 -> linux
>>107002087?>>107003038xp pro->7->win10 ltsc
>>107000779im past convincing anyone to use linux, they'll find their own way here or keep using windows
98 - xp - xp64 - vista - 7 - linux (arch btw) - 11
>>107001972>>107002042Alternatives are 1:1 outside scripting and weird edge cases, the issue is that a lot of companies rely on Office BECAUSE of scripting and/or those weird edge-cases. Same reason Microsoft still sells Access: Someone relied on it early in the company's history and now they have to use it because not even MS can get all niche functionalities into Excel
>>107000779I am still on windows 7 though
>>107000779Bro I'd still be running 7 if it was supported.Treating people's reticence to adopt 11 as acceptance of 10 is disingenuous and you're a cock loving faggot.>>107000836and every fagmaxxer talking about how how people are cattle for not switching to linux and dealing with the eternal troubleshooting adventures claiming it can do everything windows can and then when you install it and ask them how to fix something you call them stupid for thinking it was even possible, >oh just install a different distro for each wipe of your asshole bro, get over it.how about make an operating system that actually does half the shit you claim it does without needing a 3 month learning course.Yeah I'm sure if I just learn to make my own OS I can also make something better than fucking windows, and I'm sure no program ever made by anyone who isn't a tranny mormon evangelist will be compatible with it either.
>>107000779unless their files are so entrenched and they have no spare storage to migrate the files to, there's actually a higher chance of them migrating to linux distros now more than ever. And we already had this thread before, and I will give you the same answer:Windows 7 is better than 10, and 10 is better than 11, but 7, 10 and 11 are all better than 8 and 8.1....and Vista was never as bad as people made it out to be.
>>107001208>searching google for "what linux distro should I use">first result says Ubuntu>too hard>neurotypicalhuh
>>107001748>Fuck your packages. Fuck your everything constantly breaking shit. Fuck your trannies.but enough about Windows.
>>107000779After 7 I went to linux
>>107000779You can't. It's pure distilled Stockholm Syndrome. Not that it matters also. These "people" are either too brainwashed or just being contrarians.
>>107001245And there is a tradeoff for staying with windows. There always is a tradeoff.
>>107005755>These "people" are either too brainwashed or just being contrariansThey really are being contrarian, because of the amount of effort it takes to make Windows 7 work in ways that it's not really supported, it's one thing if you've had a computer with it installed for years and years and keep using it, but you have guys going out of their way, putting massive amounts of effort to keep using Windows 7, to the point where they're doing more hackshit and workarounds than Linux users get made fun of for, just to hang onto an Windows OS that has no benefits of support that a Windows OS normally benefits from, nor the open source benefits that a Linux OS gives you, it's absolutely bizarre.
>>107000779Picrel doesn't doesn't exist. I don't think I've ever met anyone who liked Win 10. At most, they tolerated it after the clownshow that was Win 8.
>>107000779Don't need to. Finally ripped the bandaid off and installed Arch (which I use, BTW).Windows had a chance with 10 to unfuck itself, instead it decided I didn't know what the fuck **I** wanted and installed shit and wouldn't let me remove it.So fuck Nutella and his merry band of Poojets taking off and breaking things with their DESIGNATED shitting updates.
>>107000779we have higher standards

>>107001746Windows contains a terminal that users can access at any time, but it was rendered unnecessary for most tasks due to standardization and good UI design back in the 1990s.
>>107006950>good UI design
Already done with several friends, thank you for reminding me about how I made a world a little better place
>>107006976Yes Windows had good UI in the 1990s.
