I heard that torrenting was illegal in Japan
>>
Holy smokes
>>
>>107004627

maybe tronn is programmed that way
>>
Japan has even harsher IP laws then burgerland.

Are Winny, Perfect Dark and Share still the meta for nippon piracy?

Japan is like the most npc consumerist nation on planet earth, and as the other anon said have some of the most extreme over the top IP laws.
>>
>>107004627
anime is literally (hyperbolically) their main export. this shouldnt surprise anyone
>>
>>107004627
only if you get caught
>>
>>107005116
No. Most of their revenue from anime is generated from within the country. Even most of the 'overseas' revenue of the anime industry is gotten from adjacent countries like China, SEA, etc...
>>
>>107004627
Most Japanese don't use a computer and even most mobilefags are iphone users.
>>
who the fuck use torrents or paypal in 2025, third worlders like burgers?
>>
Anyone have any tips for torrenting with i2p?
>>
>>107005150
It isn't a revenue generator, it actually operates at a loss most of the time. Want to know why studios stay open anyways? Because its literally part of Japan's geopolitical strategy. They allocate huge chunks of money to keep studios open so that more anime gets created so that more Westerners watch it.

Japan has been on the soft power train with their media since the 70s and anime becoming popular was their big ticket. Westerner consumers of it aren't even aware its rife with propaganda, its perfect.

藤田(tl note:Fujita) just wanted to watch the new 12 episode anime

File: its illegal agerukun.webm (3.2 MB, 1280x720)

mostly go after uploaders
>>
downloaders in japan go for the male/female idol material (aired and bd/dvd).or movies released on bd/dvd.otherwise they just use stream services like tver or hulu which let jp domain users watch previously aired shows.
>>
So, software piracy is a third world thing?
>>
>>107005375
yes third world respects your freedom, like murrica
>>
>>107005435
Naruhodo.

>software piracy is a third world thing?
dude please, with modern internet and cloud services ect. using torrent is third worlder shit, paypal is the same, both are trash and too old
>>
>>107005081
Not just that, their legal system in general is garbage.
>>
>>107005485
How exactly is cloud going to help me if I want to watch some 4k bdrip in original quality?
>>
>>107005150
Theyre heavy on the enforcement even if they dont serve or make money from countries outside
>>
>>107004659
Kek, this is why you use a VPN. Imagine having your life ruined and a possible deportation from Japan over not covering your ass.
>>
>>107004659

that's how they get you. Baffling to me that torrenting software seeds by default after download. That should come with a huge warning label.
It probably does idk
>>107005535
This and also torrenting software should put the option to exclusively route your connection through your VPN a feature that's front and center and hard to miss. In BitTorrent it's hidden behind sub menus and handbrake doesn't even have that feature I think
>>
most use sites like bilibili, dailymotion, etc.
>>
>>107005892
>handbrake doesn't even have that feature I think
Why would an ffmpeg GUI frontend need that feature?
>>
>>107005892
it does not warn, and most upload bits and pieces while you're not even done yet
>>
>>107005892
Just use a seedbox
>>
>>107005892
Torrent is a protocol meant to share files, it's not exclusive to "pirating" anime.

If you're using Torrent to download copyrighted material you should know the legal consequences of doing so and prepare accordingly, just like web browsers don't display warnings telling you that you shouldn't download movies from MegaUpload.
>>
>>107005892
>that's how they get you. Baffling to me that torrenting software seeds by default after download. That should come with a huge warning label.
You have no fucking clue how torrenting works.
>>
>>107005191
What propaganda, exactly? The power of friendship and giants robots being cool?
>>
>>107007863
By playing stupid, or just being this plain retarded you sure proved his point near instantly.

>gate
>zipang
>hetalia
>cool japan government initiative, etc

There have been entire research papers done on Japan's public attempts to erase its own crimes, and also rewrite historical narratives via anime.
A lot of it is genuinely wholesome, but it is without a doubt a medium that they push propaganda through.
>>
>>107006007
This. Been using one as a eurocunt for close to a decade now, most chill piracy live I've ever had. HTTP prem hosts are great and all, but you can't beat torrenting and the amount of shit you get that way.
>>

Japan doesn't try to 'erase its own crimes' with propaganda. They just genuinely don't believe in such things, and their art reflects this.
You may as well claim that when someone tries to question the JFK assassination narrative it is "propaganda" or "erasing history". It's just someone's opinion.
>>
>>107007863

This is one of the reasons why I love being on Qubes
>create proxyVM for handling VPN traffic
>crate AppVM for running Torrent software
>AppVM is configured to proxyVM for networking
>There's no way your real IP can leak from the AppVM
>No longer have to trust shitty torrent software to keep me safe
All of this is possible with just a few button clicks and GUI operations

Also
>can optionally configure the VPN-ProxyVM to use a Tor-ProxyVM for its networking, to hide my identity from the VPN provider in case they get subpoenaed
Chaining proxies together has never been so easy
