Post your machine, naked.
>>107008217looks like my intel nuc
>>107008222that's because it's an intel nuc
>>107008229based, what do you run on it
>>107008236ubuntu, it works pretty well on it
>>107008241nice, i run arch on my nuc but from what I can tell the cpu died, it just stopped working one day :(
>>107008059
>>107008254mine was running way hot, so i took it apart (that's when i took the photo)the fan was almost completely clogged and the thermal putty was stone dryafter cleaning up the fan and all the heatsink fins, and replacing the putty with carbonaut sheet, it's running great again
>>107008274I took a good care of mine, I had fresh paste on it and it was never really running hot, used it for coding and browsing only. I bought it used who knows what it was used for before.
>>107008288i hadn't realized that the much smaller fan and fins would clog up much faster. just hadn't thought about it until it started running hot when it hadn't before. plus i was afraid i'd mess it up taking it apart since it's packed so fucking full of everything.i've used mine to rip and compress blurays at times. slow but it got the job done.
>>107008322I guess it depends from the machine, take my dell from picrel, i can leave gentoo compiling over night and the fans almost never turn on at all, that 8th gen cpu is amazing, but my thinkpad with same gen cpu will start spinning at idle desktop sometimes. I barely ever clean the dell but my thinkpads are always filthy.
>>107008092two years isn't fast enough
Prob will replace the thermal paste again soon
>>107008402This looks serious anon, what is it?
>>107008418just an old power edge serverdual cpu, 32 core and 128gb ram iirc, nothing crazy
>10 years ago, i never thought I would be one of the /g/uts posters with an overbuilt rigtiime flies
>>107008059What did you do to your battery?
>>107008522Replaced cells in it, because I couldn't find a replacement model. Works very well now!>>107008503It looks very nice anon. I am scared of any water close to my systems kek
>>107008272oooh is that one of those chinese nas boards? if so how is it treating you?
>>107008059surface pro fans rise up
mobo mounted to top case has to be completely disassembled to upgrade m.2/memory
>>107008552thanks. its only leaked once due to a loose fitting the day after i built it. >i still rarely leave it on overnight
>>107008400I have almost the same laptop, mines just the 17 inch version.Listen to me on this bro. Do not put regular thermal paste on that shit. Use PTM 7950, youll never have to change it again and your temps will improve by like 4-8c, at least for me they did.
Conveniently I have the case open to copy porn off some old HDDs.
Based system anon, stock coolers ftw
>>107009610I wanted to do that originally but I would have to order it internationally tho, haven't found any local shops that have itI used pic related and it works fine
Guts, Linux edition
This is old but the changes since then are minor. I'll take a picture with better lighting the next time I have it open>>107008990modern watercooling blows my mind. I watercooled a mobile Athlon 20 years ago and you couldn't even get stuff with those fancy fittings back then, it was all just hose barbs (which you put clamps around, if you knew what was good for you)
>>107009980Is that a U.2 drive I detect?
Yeah not taking off this panel and applying paste again.
>>107009999i know what you mean, things very industrial, using aquarium pumps n all
>>107008503Same here anonDisappointed I didn't start earlier back when actual decent cases existed
Receiving 192gb of ram tomorrow.
>>107008603It's not chink, it's from asus with the intel n100. It's good! Runs Truenas scale with a couple TB of HDDs. Great for data hoarding, jellyfin and other cool selfhosted shit.
same as the last thread.
>>107008059I'm doing it I'm doing it I'm doing it well
r8?
>>107010290It is. An Intel P3605 1.6TB, got it for $50 off ebay.
>>107010702Not badProvided nothing happens to it that drive will last you a lifetime
>>107008662nice ground rod, anon>>107010330this looks "cool". What are those PCIe devices, additional SSD storage?>>107010430It might be good if you showed more of your PC's motherboard, Proart are usually very cute.
>>107010756it's a 4u case without a side window. Why would I care about showing off the board? Here is what it used to look like.
>>107008059where is your SSD?
>>107010430>>107010807I used to have that same heatsink on my 1366 Xeon
>>107010938I do not think the C14s supports something that old. That said, I have always preferred downdraft coolers. They Worked great back in the day. Worked great on my 5.3ghz FX8350. Still working great on my 5900XT. Keeps VRM temps below 55C under full load, keeps ram under 40C, and now keeps the NVME cool too. The gift that keeps giving
>>107010986>>I do not think the C14s supports something that old.I'd be shocked if it still came with a 1366 mounting bracket in 2025, but it used to. Here it is on my Gigabyte X58A-UD3R, well over ten years ago. (you can see the six DIMM slots through the fins if you don't believe it)
>>107011091that's not a C14S so that is probably why it fits :PLooks like a C14 but they are pretty similar.
