No
>>107009653Landline could be useful if you don't want to give your mobile out to every fucker on the planet.Especially useful if you run your own business or consultancy from home.Alternatively, I've heard people using it so they can get their kids using phones but without getting zogged by cell phones and access to apps that groom them like TikTok.
>Should I signup for a landline phone in 2025?No, install FreePBX so you can set this as your dial tone: https://youtube.com/watch?v=eAvvY5yKHZU>You guys still use landlines?Does FreePBX with a landline number count? Then yes.

>>107011133I believe ours is now part of our fiber service. As far as my parents know, it's no different than the landline they've known all their lives. But when the power goes out, it's the battery backup it came with that keeps the phone active, versus the DC current the old copper line carried.
>>107009653Yes and get a cool disney or mario phone.
>>107009653This looks more expensive than mobile. Why would you bother?
