Why does Firefox run so fucking poorly?
Works fine on my computer.
Works on my machine, just playing a 4k movie while browsing
>>107010169omg it's the cute reddit frog :3
They fired all the actual programmers several years ago although their shitty ancient engine was holding them back for at least a decade before that.
>>107010169Firefox requires a GPU with support for OpenGL 3.2 or newer or GLES 3.0 or newer to enable hardware acceleration. What kind of hardware do you use and which operating system?
>>107010169uninstall the 30 useless browser extensions and you'll be good.
>>107010246>>107010271gayyyyy>>107010215idk manit seems like modern web standards are just too much of a clusterfuck in general, but also firefox is particularly slow compared to something like falkon
>>107010297It appears you forgot to include your hardware specifications and operating system.Let's try that again, shall we?
>>107010308that has nothing to do with this
>>107010315Your hardware failing to meet the minimum requirements of the software in question has nothing to do with this. Alright, suit yourself.
>>107010325you could just SAY your bloated garbage text editor requires 128gb of ram and a threadripper, that doesn't excuse poor softwarei gave another web browser (which is also slow) which is faster than firefox
>>107010328Which OpemGL or ES version does your GPU support? It's a simple question, I'm not asking for the serial number of your case power supply fan.
>>107010343i don't know
you remind me of this one highschool friend lolhe owns a house & has his sisters ex renting from him, and he has a decent jobi'm still a neet
i dunno what's with this bog/mirei just wanna know why firefox is slower than other browsers, if anyone knows
>>107010347Let's start with your Operating System. Windows, Linux, Android, BSD?>>107010357Chromium browsers have lower hardware requirements.
>>107010369>Chromium browsers have lower hardware requirements.but why.....,,,,,,,,,,,
>>107010374Let's just get to the bottom of this. Which GPU are you using to run these programs?
>>107010169It goes through phases of eating memory like it's eating a hot asian gym whore's ass.t. linux user (white)
>>107010246idk why the cpu clock is reported at that rate
>>107010169chrome was always snappier but ff is ok tooget to edit the css to make it look however tf you want, that makes it a keeper for me
>>107010396check these preferences https://raw.githubusercontent.com/yokoffing/Betterfox/refs/heads/main/Fastfox.js
>>107010405Maybe you are running firefox in an xwayland window instead of raw waylandMOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 firefox
>>107010169Idk, sometimes it really runs like shit, but this is because of google and the fucking chrome monopoly, almost every fucking browser is chromium based, google owns chrome and they even intentionally slowed down services for non chromium browsers (proven) and then they hit you with a notification "Hey you should use chrome". It's so fucking over, even M$ Edge is chromium, brave, opera and now fucking open ai's atlas browser as well... and all those fucking webservices expect you to have chromium. I use Brave, but I will always support furryfox, because it's realistically the only true option, but the mozilla foundation is so fucking retarted, they have shit defaults nowdays and they live off google donations... no wonder that google is the default search engine. But yea, try Zen or Librewolf, don't let Furryfox die. Even Tor is based on it........
>>107010169haha OP I love froggo XD
>>107010431bet you wanted to rag on my core 2 quad and 750ti, didn't ya
>>107010491stop saying that!!!
>>107010495Why would I? Both of those are great products. I could never enjoy the legendary 750ti but I did have a C2Q OC to 4 GHz or somethingSomething is definitely wrong with your configuration, a 750ti should have no issue running firefox considering it runs on sandy bridge integrated graphics.
>>107010507Yeah, you're not wrong. It's using Wayland for sure. Maybe "running poorly" isn't the right way to describe Firefox but after using Chrome, I just noticed how much snappier it is. Anyway, I still do like Firefox.
>>107010577I'm using a much weaker system than you right now and firefox feels fine. I will try chromium see if it feels faster.
