What the fuck is happening? Why did Windows 7 just spike to 22% of the Windows marketshare?>Windows 10 dies>if you're gonna be on an unsecure operating system, it may as well be a good one>people install Windows 7Is this really what's happening?
It certainly seems like it. Windows 10 is annoying and the only reason to use it was support. Now that's gone, who cares? Return home.
>>107011330Ah, okay. That explains it. What is happening in Singapore?
>>107011330This is great if this happens. Does Microsoft have any rights over it now it's abandoned? We need someone to develop it, imagine if the source code got leaked and someone took the reigns and gave it security and everything. I am wondering if this could be the answer.
>>107011333You don't know about windows 10 iot enterprise ltsc?
I'd use 8.1 still if it weren't for driver support and 2 display features. W10 was a mistake and so is everyone who wants to stay on it.
>>107011330>if you're gonna be on an unsecure operating system, it may as well be a good onebased ungovernablesThe feature I was missing most was freely dragging and dropping the thumbnails of folders and files around in file explorer to manipulate in which order they are arranged. It worked by default on XP and I got it to work on 7 with some hacks but when that didn't work on 10 I just went to Linux instead because I will die on that anthill
>>107011330>Is this really what's happening?I heard that most of these install come from Asia, but didn't care to verify this.
>>107011420yeah windows server 2012R2 (8.1) is the best desktop operating system everi would use it in a second if chromium/browsers still supported and it still got security updates
Statcounter now appears to be completely broken for me, maybe the weird Windows 7 data was a corruption of the statcounter code and now it is fully broken.
>>107011394You're idealistic but I love it. Let's meme this into reality.
>>107011330This is just tracking relative proportion of major Windows versions within the Windows segment of visitors. It's likely that it's not the Windows 7 numbers that are going up, but the overall pool of Windows 10 machines draining from the Windows segment in totality and moving to something other than Windows 11. Perhaps trading in for a Mac, or instaling any flavor of Linux. And as both the relative and absolute portion of Windows 10 users decreases, the relative portion of Windows 7 users - which in absolute numbers, actually remained large stable all this time - goes UP.I.e. what you're seeing is the Windows market share as a whole draining.
>>107011330>Why did Windows 7 just spike to 22% of the Windows marketshare? It didn't.Do people believe anything a graph says, no matter how retarded and unrealistic?
>>107011330>>Windows 10 dieslol
>>107011394lawyers and killsquads
>>107011420>Thorium>Supermium>Blaukovitch or e3kskoy7wqk Chromium for Windows 7 forks
>>107011330Cuz those sites are bs
>>107011814>what you're seeing is the Windows market share as a whole drainingThe Windows dip as of late is not nearly big enough to jump Windows 7 up to 22%.
>>107011394This happened with XP. It's still developed on tor but Microsoft killed it all over clear web
>>107011330These graphs are fake and gay. The US government regularly publishes data of what platforms people use to access their services and it's far more accurate. Even Steam survey data is more accurate. Statcounter is the furthest thing from reliable.
>>107011357wtf I love Singapore now?
>>107011330>>107011333>>107011401>>107011921This is what happened:>windows 10 mainstream support has declared to have ended>people dont want Windows 11 and many think its not a good idea to continue using 10but with windows 7, you know what you gonna get, unsupported OS which is not the major target of malware creators because it has been abandoned..windows 10 on the other hand continues to be on majority computers so IT WILL be targeted by hackers
>>107011357What the fuck! There's gotta be something wrong.
>>107011357I know a lot of companies run certain hardware on old windows versions. Would be funny if someone connected them to the Internet thinking nothing of it
>>107011624>i would use it in a second if chromium/browsers still supported and it still got security updatesSupermium got you covered. Or r3dfox if you'd like to move to something Firefox-based.
>>107013350i'm aware, but third party browser meme forks are completely out of the picture. and once again 2012R2 is EOL for security updates in a year, no point.
>>107012734>sees new adoption>suddenly a good target for malware
>>107011330Finally, an OS feel good story.this would be fantastic actually, however unlikely.
>>107011330>>107011357bunch of ewaste pcs turning into "retro gaming builds" like how americans have the cheap dell optiplex they turn into gaming pcs.
The world would be a better place if software required either active support or release of source. For example, if you want to stop supporting software regularly you must release the source and it passes into the public domain.
>>107014159Stop being antisemetic
>>107011330Fake and gay observation bias. At the same time, the world would be a better place.
>>107011330>People would rather revert to 16yo Windows version than switch to troonixopen source bros, I don't feel so good!
