Are you able to run older version of photoshop or premier pro through Wine?- Don't recommend gimp and kdenlive.- Don't recommend cloud based tools.- Don't recommend to use Windows, I have scripts only works on Linux.
ask an ai
>>107013188>photoshopi have seen people say it works but i never tried myself
>>107013188use Pitivi
>>107013188It would take you 5 seconds to look up Wine's compatibility list, this isn't a tech support forum.
use Windows and run your scripts in WSL
>>107013188I had totally forgotten about the photoshop trolls back in the day, thanks for reviving that memory OP
>>107013188> PhotoshopI've got PS to work in the past. If you just need a classic experience, run PS 7.0. But I've also had success with more recent versions, cracked obviously. > PremiereOkay, so don't use Premiere. Use Davinci Resolve. It's better than Premiere and it's free. If you want to pay for it (you should) it's a lifetime license and works offline.
Why does Photoshop still not work in Wine? Even after years of active development by e.g. Valve to get games working, and more.
>>107013209>>107013223I thought friends would help each other
>>107013280not your friend, buddy
>>107013276it has kernel level anticheat
>>107013188You can just pick one that has good compatibility. https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=17Winboat is good too apparently. Haven't tried it yet
>>107013294>latest version with "gold compatibility" was CC 2017ehwell
>>107013214>>107013255>>107013294Thanks guys
>>107013188I would assume CS 6.0 era is stable, interestingly I was wondering the same thing myself yesterday about Adobe as I find Gimp to be a little rough and lacking. I suppose Gimp is alright, the interface was always awkward to me.
>>107013224Those are systemd services
I'm planning to get clip studio paint to run on linux. It is so strange that drawing tablets like Wacom boards work better on Linux than windows. But we only have Krita which is fine, but I bought all sorts of brushes for other things.
>>107013188> Don't recommend gimp and kdenlive.Would Krita work for your use case?
>>107013393>>107013368I have Krita installed, it works well for drawing purpose.I need photoshop for its support on .ai files.
>>107013419Oh.. what I actually need are illustrator.
>>107013248Good times
Pretty sure Photoshop has been one of Wine's primary targets since basically forever. I haven't used it in ages but back in the day Photoshop 7 and later CS on Wine ran way better than Gimp or Krita.
>>107013352Agreed. Also there are times you have to open adobe file format either its from a job or other occasion.
>>107013435have you tried inkscape?
>>107013280We all secretly hate you. There, I said it. Go fuck yourself.
>>107013592Yup, I tried Inkscape. I see it's use case only for designing logo and icons. Which is not a general image manipulation tool.
>>107013655There are too much negativity around this world. I don't hate you.
>>107013188GIMP and Kdenlive + a bigger brain that can handle them. You know I'm right.
>>107013744But these doesn't support Adobe file format that most professionals (what you considered as normies) used.
tried but its way to slow. process faster when dual boot with windows in a 2nd parttition.
>>107013419Krita is fine at drawing, but have you heard of the company True Grit Texture Supply. They make excellent brushes and so on and there is nothing like it available on Krita.
>>107013697>>107013209 is me you're right i take it back fuck ai and fuck being niggers to each other
>>107014023is this helpful?https://invent.kde.org/freyalupen/procreate-to-krita-brush-converter/
>>107013318It's an image editor. Very few things actually improve over the year...
>>107013592Inkscape is pretty good. Looking forward to CMYK colorspace support for print projects.
>>107014753The latest version of CC has native AVIF and JPEG XL support.https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/whats-new/2025-6.html#:~:text=Explore%20AVIF%20and%20JPEG%20XL,share%20heavy%20visuals%20without%20compromise.
i've seen compilations of this dude's edits on youtube since atleast the mid 2010's no way anyone's falling for this shit anymore
>>107014801WOULDOULD MARRY
>>107013188what about using adobe in a VM?easy enough to share directories with the guest OS
>>107013276>>107013293Somewhere along the way, both Adobe and Autodesk decided that they would never release Unix or Linux versions of their software. There was, way back when, a version of Photoshop that ran on SGI Irix. Probably v.2.5 or similar. But nothing in decades and now they actively work against it via WINE or other means.
>>107016317Autodesk still bought all these companies, including Alias|Wavefront and Maya runs on Linux. They also bought out Softimage and killed it... Autodesk never ported 3DSMax to Linux afaik. What a shitty company.
>>107013368clip studio paint itself works but the launcher wants microsoft edge for its webviews so its jank as fuck
>>107013287Not your buddy, amigo.
>>107013188CS6 works fine so do older versions, CC is where it completely breaks iirc.
Quit being a little bitch and step on punk.
