Can we get a book general started like they have on pol?

I'm interested in programing, networking and hacking. Other anons may be interested in other tech subjects.

Drop you best recommendations and help your fellow anons out. (specifically me :P)

Search for books on Amazon
Download them from anna's archive

All books recommended in these threads bith here, hacker news, reddit are just mediocre books. They make the prigrammer feel like a smart person and are often badly written.
They're also recommended in the wring way to the wrong people.
So my recommendation for books is to pirate some and see what you can tell it's good.

I don't want to waste my time reading through normie schlock. That's why I made the thread. Also, I know all about piracy, been doing it since the 90s.

Modern C by Jens Gustedt is good, but I don't like the niggerlicious union usage for inspecting object representation. also the retarded typedef stuff everywhere. he's a better and smarter developer than I am but he's significantly older than me and I disagree with some of the things he does.

I'm thinking of getting this book for my 12 year old cousin. Seems pretty approachable for kids to me.

Doing the reverse by looking at books on anna's archive before buying them, but probably not on amazon.

It looks like malware worse than the fake rapidshare links in 00's.
I would not recommend.

There was one book on programming where at the start one of the exercises is to design a pneumatic computer (or at least logic gates).

Sounds fun. Know the name of the book?

I like the "build X from scratch" genre. Picrel is a new one published this year, haven't read yet but looks good.
