I'm trying to set up parental controls on parents Android phone for my little brother. He's looking at bad stuff but they still want him to have it for entertainment.I've tried 2 apps and he disabled them:>A screen pops up when you try to uninstall the app, he just quickly pressed uninstall and it let him>2nd try I blocked the settings apps with a pin and hid the app. He found a way to turn off the accessibility settings it needed. What's the best way to lock it down harder, block app installations + see what he's doing?
>>107020156the stone age parental control, a good beating
>>107020389We need to know what he's doing to beat him though
Factory reset the phone (back up their shit first) and log on with parental control mode. Anything else won't work.
>>107020761Well, aren't you the dumb one?!
>>107020156Maybe try Google Family Link or something.
>>107020156>for entertainmentso he doesnt need it on him at all times then, just disallow usage outside the family room. imagine normalizing spying instead of just raising the kid
>>107020156install a program that redirects him to lemonparty every time he tries to open anything other than yt or whatever normal sites he uses
>>107020156I've been in your situation.>he deletes control appsDepending on the OS, that stuff should be in-built. Try the basic parental controls or family link https://support.google.com/families/answer/7101025?hl=en . You'll need a secondary device, which will be your phone (your parents can't even set this up apparently). Don't bother with anything that doesn't require passwords or a second device. Try to disable whatever you set up with only your brother's phone and knowledge. If you can, so can he.Also, patch his youtube ASAP https://revanced.app/download These kids just don't get off tiktok or youtube shorts and youtube is often installed as default. You will let him use it sooner or later and if you don't get rid of ads, you will watch him look at ecchi ads promoting shitty gacha games or whatever gambling stuff they're trying to sell to kids. Also, set screen times for when he can use which apps. If you don't lock them, he will tiptoe to his phone at midnight or 5 AM to watch youtube short's slime videos. Also, make sure his default browser blocks ads, because he'll be on illegal websites and see porn inevitably and I'd imagine you'd rather have that happen later rather than sooner. Given that you're posting gon, if he's into anime, get him netflix or something to watch anime on instead of some illegal streaming websites. And if it has to be some streaming website, opt for adless apps instead, like mangayomi with extensions like m2k3a https://wotaku.wiki/guides/ext/mangayomi or just download what he's allowed to watch.Get him some games that don't suck, because he'll probably install games that suck. And if he insists on brawl stars or whatever the current rage is, make sure he has absolutely no way of buying anything.Children have ZERO impulse control, whatever he promises about diligence, even he can't trust himself on that, I guarantee it. Think of what adults get addicted to and every scams they fall for, times 100%! Kids are vulnerable af.
>>107022685>Get him some games that don't suck, because he'll probably install games that suck.>inb4 let him have his own tasteMy little brother installed a "game" full of ads that was just clicking on a spinning wheel for a chance for "free coins" for brawl stars. That was all this "game" was, just watching ads, clicking the wheel and waiting for free coins and he played that shit and watched ads, because children are idiots. He got bored with the offline puzzle game I'd installed for him because it was too hard and instead of just playing brawl stars, he wanted the COINS. I got rid of that for him so he went back to watching brainrot on youtube instead but damn, children are drawn to the shittiest things as long as they're colourful and make nice sounds. My little brother would absolutely lose our house to a casino slot machine if he was allowed to play and stole the lease after running out of pocket money. I hope he won't become a lottery player when he's older... I'm glad genshin takes too much space to fit on his phone.I miss the old educational computer games that weren't get-kids-addicted-to-gambling-apps
