Signal CEO says people being surprised of them using AWS is because RICH COMPANIES BAD, TRUST ME BRO, ITS THE ONLY WAY

Well, do you trust them now? They repeated the keywords to activate your NPC programming.

The US desperately needs anti-trust action but it will never happen.

We broke up fucking ATT for less.

Signal good because big company bad?
>>
>>107023843
Lack of competition is killing the US and our unwillingness to break up these companies is the cause, yes.

Mommy!

Holy cope
>>
>>107024226
My knees just bent and I downloaded signal on every device I own.
>>
>>107024226
you disgust me
>>
So what is the problem?
The other hosters didn't want Signal's business so she had to sign up for AWS?

no, AWS has S3.
no one else had any decent object storage at the time when Signal set up their service.
>>
>>107024014
Big company bad, yes. I don't have a substantial opinion on Signal.
>>
>>107023829
no more AWS! i refuse to use signal until they switch to Azure!
>>
>>107025180
But signal good because big company bad, therefore signal good?
>>
>>107025183
to get any decent pricing from aws you have to enter long-term contracts. signal likely has something like a five-year commitment for s3.
switching makes zero sense. you still will have to pay aws.
>>
>>107025186
I hadn't thought of it like that. Good point.

Signal is glowing so hard, always did.

I wonder what Moxie Marlinspike thinks of this.
oh wait, he doesn't give a shit lmao
>>
>>107023829
Signal and this woman give me evil vibes
>>
Huh?
It's about relying on a one provider, not about big company bad. This is more about system uptime; AWS goes down and you just have no communication over signal for 12 or so hours, which is not good.
>>
>>107025769
This. Any company with ties to israel or involving jews cannot be trusted.
>>
>>107026114
person in screencap is not the signal ceo
>>
>>107025172
Just roll your own distributed filesystem and nginx.
>>
>>107026193
moxie is the one responsible for signal's dependency on s3.
it's a sound engineering choice to rely on s3 for attachments. there has been no effort made to remove that dependency.
>>
>>107024226
She's so hot bros. I hope she will be at 39c3 so I can try smell her again.
>>
>>107027485
s3 is not a distributed filesystem
>>
>>107027539
so amazon knows you are connecting to their servers, as well as many other amazon services you are connecting to all the time, and therefore "knows" you, a bit at least.
I guess that's ok, because.. it just is, ok?
I'd rather have Signal connect to digitalocean or whatever instead.
>>
>>107027611
>all the time
why are you constantly sending image and video attachments?
i would start worrying that some of your csam is betraying you by its unique file size.
