>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included.
You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation.

I made a thread for this but it died so I'm reposting here as per an anon's advice

I'm venturing into the world of learning C++ to hopefully make some of my own plugins. I hope to maybe one day sell something decent but really I want to make tools that make my projects easier to write. Has anybody done this before? Any advice? Are audio coding and DSP skills actually useful in real life?

I do lots of paid and personal projects involving orchestras + synths and I have ideas for far more specialized and streamlines synths. I feel like too many synths are "do everything" pieces of software like Serum and I'd rather have a handful of simpler synths that have less flexibility but excellent sound out of the box. A lot of really great pads could be broken down into just 4-5 knobs and still have lots of sound variety for example.

Post audio, anon, I wanna hear it

My attempt at a more modern sounding track.
Its also a remix of a meme artist.

Is it possible to run the free Kontakt player together with a cracked full Kontakt?

Also, is it possible to use bought libraries in cracked Kontakt?

What a time we live in when we have to pay money to a company just to use collections of proprietary audio files made by another company.

I'd rather not give Native Shitstruments a cent.

Lol. Girls and any kind of edm are a much better fit than girls and trap/drill imo.

Thank you.

so it seems like the primary two uses of FM synthesis in general are:
>painstakingly analyzing reference waveforms to figure out their harmonic content and replicating those relationships to create realistic sounding instruments
>just turning knobs and running it through fx to make crazy wubs bro
am I correct, or is there another usecase I'm missing?
>>
>>107036536
pretty much

also good for bells, though I think it's just reaching the same conclusion additive synthesis does when going for bells

and then maybe some percussion sounds; has that more metallic tone for hats ect than traditional perc synthesis would get you with just white noise

I never see Furnace posted on here. Has been hands down my favorite tracker software. Is /dmp/ genuinely unaware of it?

Not really and not for making better music. It's a huge time investment for very little reward unless you already have some background in the math and programming. If you don't already know C++ or a similar language, then it's unlikely that you'll ever make anything worth using.

Use all the tools that exist to their fullest before going down this path (max msp, puredata, tidal, reaktor, vcv rack/cardinal, faust, etc.). It takes many, many hours to learn this and even more to build anything. There are libraries like JUCE which provide a bunch of building blocks but you still won't make something as good as whatever stock daw synths exist or what other people have made. Setting up the programming environment is a pain and portability also sucks (every daw implements plugins differently).

My biggest advice is to be prepared to never use anything you program to make music. Treat learning this as a completely different hobby and interest that you're prepared to invest the time into. In fact, it'll take away time you have from working on music.

I used it for the chiptune album, and thought it was quite nice.
But when using the sample-based channels it seems to lack volume ramping, since it makes lots of clicky sounds when you change the volume or cut a note. So I haven't really found it suitable for anything other than chiptune.

are harmor and razor the only two actually fun additive synths?
