>debian but worse
>arch but worse
Genuinely, what is the usecase for this?
>>
Balance between stability and updoots.
>Arch but better
ftfy, 'cause there was news about AUR packages containing malware recently
>>
>>107025641
Not really worse
Arch is bottom line retarded when it comes to security and kernel features.

>debian better
Yes, in most cases, but suse wins in more current package department and OOB experience.
Suse is a GUI first distro.
Debian is a security first distro.

Arch is horseshit meme distro, AUR is low IQ solution to package starvation.

are they even trying anymore?

Tumbleweed, while rolling, is (sans Debian) probably the most stable distro I've ever used. It just werks, inside and out. Just last month, I updated the laptop with Tumbleweed I haven't touched in a year. Zypper dup, took like an hour, but zero problems. And even if there was some fuckup, I can just roll back.
Suse is imo extremely underrated, it's my favorite daily driver just werks distro.
>>
>>107025755
Forgot to add, Tumbleweed KDE implementation is imo the best there is.
>>
My main complaint about OpenSUSE is that it makes liberal use of xdg-su for .desktop files instead of sudo so it can't be set up to be passwordless. Other than that it's a much saner and robuster and friendlier version of Fedora.

I always hear this. Care to explain?
>>
>>107025967
It's the only nontrivial distro that flagships KDE, about that simple. Naturally more care is put into de-burring default configurations. It's even better than the upstream defaults you get on Arch.
>>

From my experience (~2 years of daily use), it's very much in similar vein as with the rest of the system. It just werks. It's smooth, scales properly, thumbnails work out of the box and also scale properly, no element flickering (which I had on other distros), and Krashes are absolutely minimal to a point you can pretty much eliminate them entirely.

I want to give it a shot. Will be buying a new machine soon. I want to like kde but past experiences have left a bad taste. I felt it was ridden with tiny bugs that made it more anoying over time.
>>
>>107026080
I disliked KDE on other distros I've tried, and that includes Neon. Tumbleweed feels good, just werks, and more importantly, it finally feels like a normal, adult DE.
>>
Germans like it

Debian and Arch dont have snapper...
>>
>>107026717
they do. There's multiple Arch distros that have snapper out of the box, like Garuda or Cachy. And you can set up snapper on Debian just fine as well.

>>107025641
My experiences with Tumbleweed were very mixed. It's good until it isn't and the small bugs all add up. Leap on the other hand is pretty good. It's the free version of SLE pretty much and has it's market niche, I guess? Idk I just use Debian stable instead.
>>
>>107026123
hope you don't use KDE brudi

meme distros

Stable, rolling-release, binary-based.
Decide which one you can do without, then install Arch, Debian, or Gentoo.
>>
>>107025767
Do they still patch out polkit integration and make you use root account for privileged operations in file manager?
>>
>>107026970
KDE is fire tho. it's just got some hang read write bugs here and there. GNOME is mehhh. never tried xcfe. or do you have chinaware?
>>
Opensuse is great and always gets ignored, it's sad

what did they mean by this?

opensuse is german and kde is german, no wonder

Nice distro but yast is sucha bloated piece of shit
>>
>>107026717
Nobody stops you from configuring Snapper on Arch. I use Timeshift myself because it seems easier, but Snapper is there too.

learn German
also it's [z]

You're a meme distro

Missing even a single intel wifi driver in 202x = boiling saag paneer diarrhea
>>

yast is being phased out, actually.
