Yeah keep telling yourself that. None of that shit matters if there is an exploit found in the OS that can be used by injecting memory using embedded files on the web. Like a PDF or a JPEG file, which will remain unpatched forever. Your firewall won't do shit against subversive exploits like that and it won't matter how you don't just "run random executables". Nobody is jealous at you. Everyone is laughing at you. You're a fool, and you will get stupid prizes for playing stupid games.

DDR5 just werks. For NVMe and USB 3.0 you need to build an ISO with the drivers using NTLite or Simplix. If you can't be fucked with that you can just get a pre cooked ISO from archive.org. An example: https://archive.org/details/windows-7-updated-2024-06-12

Another requirement is that your motherboard has an option to enable CSM. After that I've had no issue with latest CPUs.

Baby ducks are retards, and like all retards rationalize post-hoc: in the case of 7, it's "b-but im in love with its cartoon mascot! she wouldnt do that to me!", like it's a substitute for Group Policy.
The net result is that your average 7 user is transmitting MORE telemetry, being MORE spied upon, because they're running bone-stock configurations, than your average 11 user who ran a basic memescript at its most safe and conservative defaults - and that's before the actual spyware that's on their 7 shitboxes that got in through the dozens of RCEs.

I feel you Anon, there's software I wanna keep with me forever, but there's ways about doing it without staying on an OS that has no support going into the future, eventually you're gonna either want a brand new computer because yours is too slow for modern internet bloat or it died, or a newer computer may find it's way into your life that may not vibe well with Windows 7 driver-wise, you should really be running a Linux distro for full up to date web browsing, and then Windows (with no network adapter) running Windows when you need the old software, that way many years from now you can run your old stuff, on a new efficient computer, with all the great open source software that exists on Windows 7, but with newer packages than what is available than Windows 7 because you're on Linux and people are developing for it.

Why are zoomers nostalgic for Windows 7? Genuine question.

It wasn't even good at time of release. It was a rebranding of Vista, because Vista sucked so much it was ruining Microsoft's reputation. Windows 7 was basically just Vista Service Pack 3.

The thing is that upgrading hardware doesn't really happen in the normie sphere, especially when you're talking about the 7 era where intel reigns supreme with their short lived sockets and none of the hardware really holds any value
Mind that we're comparing 7 and linux in the 2010s, pretty much everything during that time just worked on 7 and this is the mindset you're fighting when you're arguing with 7tards, they have the sunk cost fallacy over something that had no real cost so any request to use their brain falls flat even though bazzite is easier to use than modern windows
>>
>>107042211
>pretty much everything during that time just worked on 7
That's the biggest problem with Windows 7 and XP, they existed and were usable for so goddamn long, that people believe that it is the only thing that exists and can ever be used, just when it comes to web browsing everyday, you could've used Windows 7 from Oct 2009 to Jan 2023 until Google chrome stopped updating at 109, so it makes sense that someone who has been using this for such a huge chunk of their life can't fathom it being outdated.

Because your shit for brains call center is arguing for both sides, making it look like a Linux vs. Windows 7 issue, and never acknowledging the fact that running an outdated, unpatched, unsupported version of any OS is a security risk, especially with old Windows versions.

meanwhile you've coped yourself into thinking you're more proficient than you actually are so you have those arbitrary standards even though you're just wasting your time prancing around your microsoft zoo enclosure

Are you chuzo? You sound very similar to a resident schizo I dealt with before.
>with linux when you download shit off bazaar you know you're doing it the easy way and there's nothing wrong with that
Solving a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place. These walled-garden software centres include only a small part of the software that is out there. Why should software developers have to upload and maintain their software on various competing software centres when hosting a website is accessible by everyone and gives them more freedom?
>meanwhile you've coped yourself into thinking you're more proficient than you actually are
Where the fuck are you getting this idea again? If I thought I was technologically "proficient" then why would I complain about Linux not being usable for those not "proficient"? Software centres can make installing software easier, but that usecase is just the tip of the iceberg - doing anything more than web browsing will require using a command line in Linux which is objectively a worse user experience.
>you're just wasting your time prancing around your microsoft zoo enclosure
This is nonsense because, as I stated before, I've been using debian for a while now. Maybe you were too autistic to pick up on that.

bazaar isn't a fucking walled garden you dumbass
you can still download random unverified shit off the internet as long as it has a version compatible with your package manager
the question is why you're so insistent on this jeet way of doing things like it's better
>doing anything more than web browsing will require using a command line in Linux which is objectively a worse user experience.
you copypaste whatever your app spat out at you, put in your root password and you're done assuming you even need to do that
fucking bazzite will have all the normieware easily accessible and even preinstalled now and you can comfortably use it without seeing the damn command line
>>
>>107044144
This, you can even change the Linux Mint software center options so that it shows unverified stuff, you know Windows users are cooked when an easier way of doing things via a package manager is somehow a bad thing, meanwhile saying that Windows is easier to use than Linux, which is supposetly a good thing.

So is a walled garden good or not? Im confused.
>>
>>107044214
Linux Mint wouldn't let me set a short password. It treats the user like a child in a way Windows 7 doesn't.
>Windows users are cooked when an easier way of doing things via a package manager is somehow a bad thing
The package manager is not easier than clicking an msi installer on Windows. It's the same, provided I can find the program I want.
>meanwhile saying that Windows is easier to use than Linux, which is supposedly a good thing.
Yes and yes!

They're both easy (if the flatpak app doesn't require extra setup on the command line) except now I have to use a soulless app store with a limited selection.

there's more soul in downloading shit off a freetard aggregate than there is going through tacky websites and following shady megaupload links

you've watered down shit to the point where everything is meaningless and the subject of the original conversation is completely lost?
you're crying about every single method of app delivery now? flathub is too simple for you yet you shill for install wizards because clicking baby guis fuels your ego?
what the fuck do you think they are if not very simple package managers?
you can download your packages and install them manually but crying over internet making shit easier is like bitching about disc drives becoming obsolete, an absolute nitpick that no one gives a shit about
>>
>>107044882
There is the AppImage standard but it has its own problems. You can't just double click to run it, and there's no icon either. Also it takes a lot of disk space because it doesn't dynamically link the GUI to something like the .NET framework.
>>
>>107044718
You don't even have that. Installation of every other program on troonix requires internet connection and connecting to repos, a.k.a. someone else's computer. You are literally fully dependent on infrastructure thats 100% dependent on the tranny cabal. Windows 7 doesn't have this problem as you mentioned.
>>107044998
This, plus if you dont have fuse, or you distro is actively hostile towards it (like Ubuntu is/was), then you are out of luck.
>>
>>107045023
Anon, quit playing like you're ordering software and physically had it delivered to your house, you fuckin downloaded stuff from the tranny internet, it's not like Linuxfags can't download .deb files of stuff and install it, or back it up.
>>
>>107045184
I wrote my own Windows program which people actually use. Having the installer just werk on all Windows systems - without porting to competing standards like deb and rpm or requiring flathub - makes my life and their lives easier.

I downloaded it ONCE from developers website's or archives. I then put it on USB stick full off offline/cracked installers, because I do not wish to be dependent on tranny cabal and their cloud. And no, troonix xisters won't do much with .deb files, because those files will most likely try to download its dependencies from the internet, or, if you are mindbroken enough to make local copy of your repositories, your packages will break and you will need to connect to the internet to resolve the issue.

Kek I've said it before but Windows 7 users are practically the new Linux users, people meme about tinker toys, but Windows 7 is so unsupported, you're tinkering in order to do shit with no support.

>>107045424
It's the idea that a baby duckling gets exposed to something at a young age like Windows 7, and because it's all they know and they've been using it for so long, they think it's all that exists and want to use it forever, not even knowing what forever means, because they don't take into consideration the rot of new stuff coming out and not getting drivers for it, which is what kills OSes, they think because they have a little cache of software that's not going to be updated, they and their ancient computer are going to be fine forever.

>>107045473
Basically this, accepting that you're getting older is the hardest part of growing up, I was 17 when Windows 8.1 dropped and now it's got no support I'm an old bastard, it is what it is.

I don't have complaints about using Linux as a server OS. It's lightweight and does what it needs to do.

>>
>>107045499
>Linux desktop is fucking awful though and I've been subjected to this shit for three years
are you using a DE like Gnome or KDE?
yeah you should just switch to a tiling WM. using DEs is normie behaviour and you deserve the substandard experience you're getting.
tiling WMs are freedom and just werk and let you build things up exactly as you intend.
i'm on sway, been on it on my main machine about a month now and I'm using it in basically the same way as i used winshit10, down to things like nightlight, notifications, media function keys, wifi, all of it is just there and just werks.
>>
>>107045493
It may be partially a baby duck thing but I think in many cases it's just recognising that it's the best OS ever made. I started using Windows 7 in 2019 after using Windows 8 for years and I don't feel a baby duck attachment to Windows 8.

>black box OS
tranny, what makes you think that your supposedly open operating system is any better? Linux is a tranny cesspool, controlled by trannies and corporations, because without the help of the latter, you would be at the same stage as GNU Hurd. No one will ever bother to perform a full audit on the biggest open source projects because its physically impossible, and it definitely won't be audited by open source community, because most people in it nowadays are too incompetent to do shit, unlike people who hack proprietary software who actually do something useful.
>can't stop losing

>>
>>107045567
I used SwayWM on my laptop for about a year. Interesting experience but required too much tinkering to work properly. I currently use XFCE and LXQt which also require tinkering but there's less of it required. KDE was too buggy and GNOME made me want to throw up.

Yes, because even after all those years, it provides better value than troonix ever will, unless you maybe fell for the meme of modern hardware, but only because modern vendors are actively hostile to decent operating systems.
>where you control nothing
There are no things on my computer that I can't control. On the other hand, its not like you trannies could somehow regain control over your computers anyway if it was taken away from you, because most of you are too tech-illiterate to actually do hard modifications in software that you run.
>and see trannies around every corner
Because linux literally turns people intro trannies, as its controlled by them. open source software relies heavily on terminally online freaks who will literally work for free, so in this case no one who actually has a life can compete with your average troon, who will slowly take over every community it touches, and use it to groom people into trooning out.

Windows 7 was officially compatible with hardware up to 6th gen. You can make it run on something like 7th or 8th gen pretty easily with custom iGPU driver, and there are even people who managed to install this on newer stuff. It will take a lot of time for all good, old hardware to go missing, although if you can still buy computers with i486 CPUs, you will be able to buy good hardware in the next few decades just fine.

After 3 decades of development you still argue about init systems, trans rights and use cases, so it does not.

because it does not. The vast majority of linux users and their preachers are anything but tech-literate. From my experience, most of thoser people fail to comprehend the basics of computer engineering. You are not tech-literate just because you waste your time on niche, obscure trannyware for which you have clear manuals and youtube tutorials.

I do hate them because they ruin everything they touch. Think of them like king midas, but instead of turning things to gold, they turn them into shit.
