Listening party link: https://dmpproductions.org/party/

>/g/ makes an 18th album
Theme: Outer Space Music
Deadline: Late December

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included.
You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation.

is having monitor speakers a waste for most home producers? most ppl would need way more treatment than they usually have in order to get the sound they think they need...better to just use headphones that emulate different environments and then test in car

I would say so, as long as you have a few different references to play your stuff on, it's one of the last things you need

I want to make synthwave/trance just with code,. without a DAW. What technology should I use? Csound? Faust? Supercollider?
>>
>>107057968
>just with code
Define what you mean
Do you want to generate the sound from scratch with code? Then you'll want some kind of audio library to let you build arrays of audio samples and send them to the OS to play. Then you can synthesize the samples via code, sequence them, mix them, and play them. I've used NAudio for C# and it was fine. I also used the XAudio2 library which is part of DirectX, and it's a bit more powerful but probably harder to use (I used an old deprecated C# wrapper for it).
If you don't want to synthesize the sounds yourself, you have some options: you can load audio files from a hard drive and play those, which will be similar to above you'd just have to read the data. If you want to outsource your audio generation to something else, like a VST plugin, then set aside like a year minimum if you want to do it yourself, though you can also maybe use something like JUCE.

A submission just has to loosely fit the theme
Post it here and make it clear it's a submission and give its title

Uploading in a lossless format just means providing a link to your submission where your original render (like a .wav file) can be downloaded in its full quality.
If uploaded to something like the popular Vocaroo site for listening, that site reprocesses your upload to a lower quality and shouldn't be used for submissions

You need to work on the core elements of the genre and properly tune in to why people listen to this stuff. There's no /HqXZARxwd hooks, the mix is bad and worst of all its completely forgettable. You needs to try harder and put the work in because this isn't good.

Eh, maybe. It was complicated as hell, but if I remember correctly it was pretty well engineered under-the-hood, which is probably why development went so slow. I use the same programming language in my day job, so that would make it easier. The VST stuff was just hard as hell though...

Fixed my rending problem in FL

no matter what settings I tweaked some 3rd party plugins would render all fucked up via the standard 'export as' rendering

but on the master channel you can just go to File -> disk recording -> and render the selected track the same way as it plays back in the DAW

Yeah the FL Studio settings have changed quite a bit in the 15 years since that video was made lol
fixed sized buffers were already disabled in the wrapper's troubleshooting settings where that option seems to be now.
Maybe I'll try experimenting with turning them on?
Everywhere says not to/you really shouldn't be needing it but I'll try it

I tried tons of stuff, googling, AI, none of it helped. Happy with the mixer rendering as I was recording into Edison beforehand, much slower....

All I had to do was send a photo of my Arturia controller to Ableton and they gave me a free Lite license
>>
>>107081700
Im still on 10, so I may beg them to get the current version for cheap. I'm poor after all.
>>
>>107082386
Well the long story for me is I wanted to activate the "Lite" license that came with my MiniLab Mk II, but it wasn't showing up on my Arturia account. Idk if it was time limited after I registered or something and I lost it, but it just wasn't there. (I did buy and register it last year). Then I found a form on the Ableton site to get a replacement license. All I had to do was submit a photo of my receipt or photo of my device... and I got it a couple hours later, on a Saturday even. I included the serial number in my photo, but idk if that was necessary.

Nice.
Is lite what you are looking for? To try out if you like the DAW?
Having a quick look at it, the major limitation seems to be only having 8 audio and MIDI tracks?
>>
>>107083120
Yeah, I just wanted to try Ableton, and since it supposedly came with my controller, why not
>>
>>107083679
Cool, have fun!
I started with fruityloops in like '99, cubase from around '03 to '10, since then Ableton. Fits my work flow and requirements best.

nah if anything shitposting keeps this thing alive it's just lately garbage practices like shills and low quality slop is criticized harshly and retards that come here in hopes to get easy you's are discouraged from posting. I for once am ok with this gatekeeping arrangement. Also last theme was bad pick for everyone.

Is there a way in Kontakt 6 to check which libraries a track is trying to load?
I had some SDD trouble with my VST storage and had to move some files, and when I'm looking through old Reaper project files it's kind of a pain to trial and error check exactly which VST I was using for a track sometimes.

>10% actually OK people
>10% mass repliers also fishing for you's after posting generic feedbacks

Which wouldn't be necessary if extreme shitposting didn't drive everyone away in the first place.
